12 month contract discount for 6 months?

Rang VM in October to leave they gave me a discount and also TV XL for £11.50 per month, I agreed to this and knew that I would be with them for another 12 months.
Just got my last bill and the TV has gone up to the full price of £20.50, rang them up and was told that the TV discount was only for six months, I tried explaining to them that I was not told this infact the girl I spoke to said I would have to renegotiate the deal in 12 months time, giving me the impression all discounts ran for 12 months.

Is this VM's company policy, hold people to 12 month contracts but discounts only for 6 months, and hey lets not tell the customer they don't really need to know that do they.

Just wondering if it was a verbal contract, I would say VM broke it, do I need to stay?

This has happened to a lot of people. 12 months changing to 6 months, and lifetime to can't find no record of that on your account.

No it's not Virgin's policy, it's an agent not doing their job as they should.

She should have told you up front that the TV XL discount would only last 6 months.

I would say there are grounds to argue over whether you can be held to the contract or not based on the incorrect information given
