Wrong address

When I moved into my flat last year I gave Virgin what I thought was my address, but due to a complex local numbering system in Edinburgh it turns out I gave them the wrong flat number (eg. I said "1/2 Street" instead of "1/1 Street"). I only found this out a few months ago from the Royal Mail and the Land Registry who confirmed my correct address.

It was a pest as I had to update all my bank cards, utilities etc. but everytime I phone Virgin Media customer services they say they can't change it. One guy told me to call another number (Can't remember it. They answered the phone straight away, but were only open 9-5 - seemed really good). They said they would change it on my account, but it had to be done overnight or something. Still nothing's changed.

Now when I call customer services with other queries, I still mention the address prob as it's a security question i keep getting wrong. I ask for them to correct it and they either pretend they are doing it (one even said she did it there and then) or say they can't/it won't let them - depending on who I speak to.

It's really annoying because my neighbour keeps getting my bills/letters from VM. Any ideas how to resolve this, or who to phone for a proper answer as to why this is so difficult? I'm in Edinburgh - former Telewest area, if that helps. Cheers.

Re: Wrong address

Ask them to do a 'Res to Res form'.

It basically 'moves' your services from the wrong address to the correct address

If both the wrong address and the correct address are on Virgin's computers it will take about 2/3 maximum to process.

If the correct address is NOT on the computers it will take longer

Ben can you shed some light on that quote?

2/3 ? is that two to three days? or two to three weeks?

I would think to place a correct address on a system would take less time.

" 1234 anyroad, any lane, any town, any country " .

That took me less than two minutes
