have virgin doubled what they charge
i've noticed the last few months that phone bills under virgin are almost double than what i used to pay under ntl and my usage has not changed but become less than before. has anyone else noticed this since virgin took over?
their broadband is crap too - as soon as 1800 comes i get no internet connection intermittently every 25-30 minutes until the next day even at 4am in the morning when i need to make contact with family abroad there is no connection so have to use dial up.

Sounds like you have a fault with your broadband. Consider calling technical support. With regards to the bills, mine appear to be cheaper. ie talk unlimited 24 is now cheaper etc. Check your bill in detail and find out what is costing you more and why.

Re: have virgin doubled what they charge
some of the call charges have gone up. ie the connection charge is now 7p, and a standard UK call is 3.25p per minute rounded up to the nearest minute, which is more expensive than ntl used to be.
But the talk plans have dropped quite a bit. Sounds like you are on one of the older talk plans, i would call CS and see whats the best one to go for.

Indeed, if it's the call charges that make the bill appear to double.

Re: have virgin doubled what they charge
Or the fact that they are using dialup more because the internet isn't working

Re: have virgin doubled what they charge
the cost of the dial up is like calling a local number. I did call up technical broadband services a while ago and they came and changed the box but that did not change the problem at all which is why we are considering moving to BT and also moving our business lines too

Re: have virgin doubled what they charge
I'd double check the number its calling. Most dailup internets use a 0845 number which is charged at 10p per min. Some use a 0844 number which is a little cheaper.

Re: have virgin doubled what they charge
My phone bill seems to have gone up a lot also, I have just gone on to the 24/7 and hopefully that will make a difference.
