Legality of VM broadband pricing

On
http://allyours.virginmedia.com/cgi-...ng_customer.pl

It says Broadband £37 / month yet if you click on the more information
link it says 20 meg broadband for £20.

If as item is priced like that in a shop you would be charged the lower
amount.

Ah that old Chesnut...

Put it this way, he probably see`s more than 2mb being offered by Virgin Media at £18.00 a month..

Next you`ll be arguing the fact he needs a landline at £11.00 a month

£20.00 a month with Virgin Phone: M
So if a shop says 'Bottle of Red Wine £10' and then you see it elsewhere 'Bottle of Red Wine £5 when bought with Steak' would you then write to the head office saying 'I don't want the steak but I want the bottle of wine for £5?'

Maybe I should start a thread in the Sky section

If you buy a Sky Box on its own they charge you one price, but if you take out other services, they charge you a difference price. Think I will send e-mails

The more information button on the link I gave (which is for Existing Customers) says '£20.00 a month with Virgin Phone: M' which makes it £31.50 which is a lot lower than £47.50

there is no legal requirement for VM to "sell" you the broadband at the advertised price. google around and you'll see online shops that have mispriced items and have cancelled all orders for them. an advertised price is only a guide price and a shop has no legal obligation to sell something to you.

as stated also, the price for bb xl varies depending on if you take other services / are a new customer or not etc

I think that would depend on who was serving you and in which shop. There is no requirement for a shop to sell you something for the price they have put on it.

What!? Quoting facts is a "fanboy retaliation"

BE = £18 + £10.50 = £28.50
Virgin = £18

So if you want to compare including other servces the closest Virgin Package is 3 for £30 which also gives you Large TV

The 2MB is overpriced and in desperate need of an upgrade but its not as bad as you try and make out. In your circumstances this isn't a suitable product but for somebody who wants several services but isnt that interested in having high speed Broadband just an internet connection its decent.

As with most things its Horses for Courses.

Actually it is £31.

If you are a Virgin Phone only customer and take out BB XL you will pay in total £31 for them both

If you are a virgin standalone xl broadband customer and take out a phone you will pay in total £31 a month for them both
