Help and advice please.
I'm writing this on behalf of my parents as they are not used to forums and I was allready registered here anyway.
It is kind of a multi question post, so any questions to any parts would be great thanks.
They are currently charged per month,
£25 4mb broadband
£11 line rental
£7.95 Talk Ultd
-£4.50 T U for price of T E W bonus
£1.75 Callwait
£20.50 XL TV
£15 additional V Box
£25 sports and movies pack
This totals £101.70 per month. This seems a lot to me after I spotted the VIP pack for £85, which has the XL tv with the movies/sports, the XL Phone, the 20mb BB, a V+ box and still the additional standard box.
Thats nearly £20 cheaper, has a V+ box and 5 times faster BB.
Are they being overcharged, could they take the VIP pack and if so, what would be the difference if any please?
I hope this is posted in the proepr place and I would like to thank the community for any helpful replies.

They're not being overcharged, as customers are only put on the VIP package when they request to.
VIP includes -
BB XL
Phone XL
Talk International
Talk Mobile
TV XL
Sports and Movies
V+ Box
One additional box
for £85 a month (with a £30 installation charge for V+ in this case)
The call waiting isn't included in the bundle, so it will be £1.75 extra on top of the £85, giving a total cost of £86.75.
Also, if they'd consider ebilling, they can either register or preregister depending on what area they're in. This would save a further 50p a month.

We had something similar and when I saw the VIP offering we jumped at it - never looked back since

Re: Help and advice please.
Hi shyblueoz, can't say more than I know, I'm getting the 4mb for £17 pm. There are lots of horror stories from people on higher tiers getting nowhere near speeds. IMHO, if they have had this for a while, are happy with it, getting good Q.O.S, they why try and fix what's not broken.
Even for the sake of £20 for now

Your right about the speeds, They were getting less than 200 kbps earlier. ( I have made a separate post on this, so I won't mention it further.)
They're not really happy with it, (My mums allways looking to save money and she can't use the net and barley watches any of the digital channels!)
If you could get a much better service for 20% less, you would, wouldn't you? That's my main question I suppose, is there anything on the current pack they would not get on the VIP pack? (Call waiting would come off anyway.)
And when I said overcharged above, I didn't mean in a malicous way, I just meant they could be getting more for less.
My beds calling, hopefully it will all be clearer in the mornin.

Re: Help and advice please.
I'd certainly be looking seriously at the VIP pack if I had that lot. £20 a month = £240 a year. That's a lot of money. Even if the broadband speed didn't noticeably increase despite the speed tier upgrade from 4 to 20 meg, just having the V+ STB would more than make up for it.

Re: Help and advice please.
I am on the VIP pack @ £85 per month and I am saving more now than when I did having Sky+ with additional box, BT Line & NTL for my BB (up to £45 a month).
Great value for money. Can't fault the TV and Phone. BB needs improving, but with patience this will improve in time. Added to the fact that you get Setanta for free which saves another £9.99 per month and a few other freebies thrown in, I would say it's excellent value for money.

Re: Help and advice please.
I have never looked back since taking the VIP package for £85/7 PM, my only qualm is the BB speed, it's way lower than advertised, but hey ho i don't do much downloading on my connection, but i would like what i pay for, anyhow, seems to me you will save a tidy sum if you bundle your sevices to VIP.
