Direct Debit cancelled?

I have been paying my bill no problems by direct debit for the past few months, got my most recent bill a few days ago no problem. I just looked on my online banking site, it says the DD has been cancelled? I am hoping this is just part of the new billing system, will it all be automatically sorted before the payment is due to come out, which is on or just after the 26th OCT.

Thanks.

I suspect it may be a cock-up. Get on to them and check before you incur extra charges and risk them sending the bailiffes round.

Umm....maybe but I did get a letter saying the DD would be changing, but I would not have to do anything myself. Guess I just want to know if it will be done caus if I get any late payment charges I aint gonna be happy about that.

Yep, think I had one myself but IIRC that was only with reference to the date that it's going to be withdrawn. I just checked my Bank online and theres no notification that my DD has been cancelled.

Thumbs down Re: Direct Debit cancelled?

When my (now late) wife and I signed up with ntl back in 98, she signed a Direct Debit Mandate.

When I moved house in March ths year, I signed another DD Mandate.

It then appeared that both DDs were charged various amounts - but then a third DD appeared on my Bank Statement in VM's favour, and this was also paying out my hard-earned. Seeing as there were only 2 DD Mandates in VM's favour, this third DD was of some interest to me...

I now pay VM directly, not by DD. I never had any comunication from them regarding any changes...

Re: Direct Debit cancelled?

My mother who is 76 has received a letter from virgin telling her that this months payment by direct debit has been refused by the bank, they also said her phone service will be limited to incoming calls until the bill is paid.
I contacted virgin about this as i know the money is always in her account to pay this bill, customer services told me they had asked for the payment using her new virgin account number, so it was their mistake but will not restore her service until the bill is paid and that a late payment charge has been put on.
As she is recovering from a serious illness i paid the bill for her and after a heated discussion they decided to take the late payment charge off.

It's happened to me too, and is a direct result of the migration. Don't hesitate to call them as soon as possible.

Don't wait and hope its OK, and make sure there is no non-payment DD penalty now on your account, that also happened to me.

Mine is all sorted, and the penalty (£10 over two months) has been refunded.
