Billing query
Hi,
I was with NTL prior to Virgin and received 2 bills, one for Broadband and one for telephone as at the time, i was with Sky TV.
A few months ago, I took out a £30 package with Virgin for TV, Broadband and Telephone, and still receive 2 bills which usually add up to more than £30.
Can anyone advise me if this is correct?:

Re: Billing query
yes theres 2 billing systems soon to be one, shouldnt be coming to more than £30 apart from call charges though.
What does it say on your bills?

Re: Billing query
I would have thought that the answer is in the question ... some phone calls are not included in the bundle, if the total of the bills is more than £30, it's almost certainly due to call charges.
Are the bills itemised? What do they give as the cost of the various components of your service?
to Cable Forum, by the way.

Re: Billing query
bear in mind for some of these call packages you have to disconnect after an hour and redial else you get charged...

Re: Billing query
Thanks for your replies. Bill is £11.00 for line rental; £5.50 for starter TV package = £16.50. Then there is a direct debit in addition to this of £18.00. which adds up to £34.50 before any calls. Seems a bit odd to me!

Re: Billing query
ahhh your on the old 3 for 30 and your discount has been removed, probably when the billing system was switched.
get onto CS and because you used to have that discount and theres no reason for it to be removed, ie it wasnt time limited and you havent downgraded any of your services they should be able to re-add it on.
Though they may have to upgrade your TV and switch you onto the new 3 for 30 with the Large TV.

Re: Billing query
Have just phoned Virgin. It appears that when I went onto the 3 for £30 in January, I wasn't put onto it. They said they will upgrade the TV package giving me 30-40 extra channels; credit my phone bill with £40.50 (my over payments) and put a note on my records saying that if I want to cancel my account in January, then I should not be penalised for doing so due to original account commencing then. So if they do all of that, I really can't complain.
Thank you for your advice, much appreciated.

Re: Billing query
If they do all that, that's a good outcome. Just make a written note of all this, the name of the agent you spoke to, and the date and time, and keep hold of it until your next bill comes.
The proof of the pudding, as they say, is in the eating.

Re: Billing query
Well here I am again with an update as to what happened!
Yes, I got my extra channels free of charge. However, this month (Oct) they took out £25 by direct debit - when I phoned them, they said it was for TV and phone. A few days later, they took out £18 (the normal amount I pay for broadband). Phoned them again and they admitted an error with the £25 and said they would re-imburse the money. They already owe me £40.50 for overpayments!
They have advised I will not need to pay for phone and TV until the amount they owe me is paid off.
