Re: Billing System Upgrade
Yup everything will be on one bill.. That includes the people that are billed for all services on SABS/Harmony. And it also includes the people thats billed for TV and Telco on ICOMS and BBI on SABS.
I'm dreading it actually. Its going to be a nightmare. Because all the people that were billed seperatly for bbi and telco. but were getting two lots of discounts one on each system even though they shouldn't have been but was possible because the two systems wasn't linked will find that a lot of these discounts suddenly vanish at they move acrodd to ICOMS.
The main one will be when there only paying £10 for the bbi but then also getting the 3 4 30 discount applied to the telephone account

Re: Billing System Upgrade
It's a funny old world. I remember when SABS was seen as the answer to all the billing problems caused by having lots of different billing systems in NTL (as it was then) All those wasted millions moving things onto SABS only for it now to be no more. Maybe bills will start to be more accurate! Now that would be progress

To clarify - does that mean that Bromley customers with a stand alone cable modem (broadband not through the set top box) will still receive two bills? Or have I got my acronyms mixed up? (I'm sure your post should have mentioned SABS somewhere... :P )

To be fair SABS was that answer to having lots of different billing systems, even if it didn't get implemented fully. It just wasn't a very good billing system (from what I've heard).
Its not totally wasted money anyway - I'm sure its been a lot cheaper and easier to migrate customers from SABS to the Telewest system than it would have been to migrate them from all the systems that SABS replaced.

Re: Billing System Upgrade
Did you say customers are still giong to get billed and provisioned on sabs for their bbi? even though telewest can provide bb modems through ICOMS?
Id personally think it would be simpler to have all customers across ICOMS and dump SABS/Harmony all together. Otherwise customers are still gonna recieve 2 bills - i mean, whats the point! were trying to eliminate this right?

Re: Billing System Upgrade
Nope all the billing of the accounts are going to get done on ICOMS. The BBI will still be provisioned on SABS but no billing will be done. Also ICOMS will be able to talk to SABS to make upgrades downgrades etc. Just like the Telewest systems works. You make the change on ICOMS and to automatically gets sent to the provisioning account

Re: Billing System Upgrade
Our direct debit is normally paid on the 9th of every month.
The letter we had about the billing changes said the changes will take place on the 5th of October. I assumed this means that our normal October payment will not be taken, and instaed be on the new date of the 26th.
But then the letter goes on to say the change will be effective for any payments claimed from the 19th October onwards.
I'm confused, does this mean we will pay twice next month?

I seem to remember being changed from paying in arrears, to paying in advance, one month, and it did seem to 'charge twice' - I bore in mind there will now be no 'final payment', if I ever want to cancel

there will still be a final payment but you get a refund of anything paid, that you didnt use. If you look at the dates on your bill its not exactly a month in advance, on mine its about 20days, and when it actually gets taken by DD its only about 5 days in advance.

Re: Billing System Upgrade
Hang on, another change to the Bill? I swear my last bill (That came on the 13th sept) had a different layout to it, (I'm ex-ntl), ah well, as long as the bill contains the right amount to pay, I'm not fussed
