09825 porn line billed to account !!!!!!
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone else has been wrongly billed for calling this line ???
The call was for duration of 2 seconds and cost £1.50 !!!!!!!
Nobody at home at the time, so either the account has been hacked or someone broke into my house and phoned a sex line for 2 seconds !!!!!!!
I have phoned virgin and they say the number has not been allocated to anyone - so how can I be billed ?????????
They refunded the cash but are unsure themselves how it got on my bill !!!
I now know of about 10 people that this has happened to.......
I have heard about people getting a refund due to it being an incorrect number, to be given the money back "as a gesture of goodwill", to people getting a call from an engineer to check the line..and someone being billed for a false call out due to there being no fault......... 
Is there anyone in the "inside" that could look into this further ?????
I can see that this could be one hell of a big scam due to people not normally looking at there bills, and the extra "little" amount being added to the bill..

I'd report the number to icstis (premium rate phone line regulator). You can check the number on http://www.icstis.org/numberchecker/

At that price, you shouldn't need more than 2 seconds to get your satisfaction!
You will probably find that there was a connection charge involved too.
But a good heads up on a potential security breach - will check my bill when I get it through!

Do you have dialup internet?
The reason I ask is that this happened to my parents because they had somehow managed to download a porn dialer. In that case the call cost was refunded by NTL.

Its £ 1.50 per call - Hence the 2 second call time i would imagine. Everyone I know that has been "had" has just the 2 second call time !!!!!
And been on broadband now for years so no dial-up !
Ive had the cost refunded so not too worried, just cant understand how
they get on the bill in the first place !!!!
I did ask for 09 numbers to be barred on my account to stop it happening again, but the CS rep said that he couldn't and just see if it happened again next month !!!!!!
Just also wanted to warn other people - If its happened to 10 people, that i know of so far, then theres a good chance that its gonna hit others. Normally I dont really check my bill too closely, but just had a quick glance over it this month to see what I was charged to ring Oz. Keep your eyes open people !!!!

You CAN have 09 numbers barred i would call them again and ask why they do not want to. Could it be the fact that tech support " that's a laugh" is a premium rate call and they don't want to cut of their gravy train i wonder.

OK but there tech support for broadband is. That's the money tree 
No Phone company wants you to block high rate numbers because they then don't make any money.
In fact i am willing to make a claim that when Customer service is farmed out to Bangalore " and at the rate there going it will not be that long off" they will change the number back to 0845 or 0870.

Update.........
Just had a call from my boss, and he got his bill today - and guess what !!!!
Yep, porn line call on it - he only checked cos I said something at work.
Could it just be in my local area ? ( Scunthorpe - hey, someone has to live here lol )
Just one question..... Would barring the calls also stop dialling 0844 numbers ?
I use a 0844 number to get the cheap calls to OZ ( 1p per min )
