Broadband over charge

For some reason NTL have decided to charge me £32.13 for my 2Mb broadband this month. Anyone else seen this?

Re: Broadband over charge

happened to me, currently writing writeen complaints since they broke the direct debit agreement and did not send me notice that they were changing the direct debit amount. (and if there was a alternative payment to direct debit I would allready be using it)

Re: Broadband over charge

They did it to me as well. Of course they keep promising that it'll be fixed by the next bill but not so far.

Re: Broadband over charge

and totaly against the direct debit policy to, they HAVE to tell the custopmer if there will be a change to the amount of the direct debit, i never recieved any notive (back when I had dial up 4 years ago Iwould receive the email from them saying they are taking 9.99 from my accont on or after so n so date, these emails stoped a while back, and have never appeared again, and no anti spam trap has recieve them as i checked)

I spoke to my bank about this, and they could have reversed the DD but they did point out if i didnt pay ntl they may cut me off and advised me to make a writen complaint instead.

Re: Broadband over charge

And you guys thought upgrading would not result in a bad bill, I am expecting it and prepared to argue my case to NTL when it happens.

Re: Broadband over charge

I know this is'nt the place, but this is what they done to me,AND i work for them!!
About a year ago,i signed up online in the office for dial up associate offer off net (i dont live in a NTL area) as i was p**** off with AO HELL!
3 weeks went by,heard nothing, phoned a number.Told wrong number, phone this(the first number).Lost the rag & told them i was a tech so i knew the state of play & they'd better sort it or there would be e-mails flying like confetti!
Then told,i could'nt get it.
I went to 'One -tel' for my internet.One month later,got a letter'welcome to ntl'!blah.blah...the wrong package !!!
So,i phoned them up,wrong number!phone this..Call center in India!
Got bank statement...DD set up 2 months earlier,cost£4.50.
NTL tried already before i got the letter to take money with little in the bank! Result'£32.00 bank charge!
I cancelled NTL,which,as far as i was concerned,i never HAD! Cost me £12.50 to cancell the DD!!
Phoned (again!) Indian call center.....
2 months later, got a letter asking me why my bank had returned the DD as i'd cancelled it!...
Thankfully, that was the end of it,tho i'm still waiting for the money to be refunded as well as £40 put in a hire car when my company van was in the garage!!...
Dont think i'll hold my breath!
Customers ask me if i have NTL & i have to just say "it's not in my area!....hoping they dont ask me if i ever would!

Re: Broadband over charge

This is getting quite stupid now, NTL should have sorted this out by now, it's an upgrade not a package change, how many punters/customers are just going to pay not realising they have been ripped off by a computer glitch.
