... whether I like it or not.
I have tried. No, I really have tried. Twice I have told NTL to stuff their phone line, but they keep on reconnecting me. Most recently with a totally new telephone number after they disconnected me and cancelled my account.

I gave them six weeks to send me a bill, but as they haven't yet, I rang Customer Services and asked about my bill, where I was asked for my account number.
"I have no account number" says I, "You must have" says CS rep, "Nope" I replied "you have given me XXXXXX phone number, not only without my authorisation, but also against my expressed wishes not to do any further business with your company."
Not being able to come up with an explaination, she took down my details and promised that someone would call me back. (How many times have I heard that one.)
That was a week ago.
I am quite concerned now as I have three teenage daughters in the house who could quite easily spend hours on the phone if they knew that we had a free telephone line <g>
Just supposing that they did use the phone, would I be liable for any call or rental charges? I haven't entered into any agreement with them, and I have tried to get them to take this "service" away.
I think I have been fair with the time and notification (
phone calls will have to do as I don't see why I should spend even more time and inconvenience writing to a company that I have already stated that I no longer wish to be connected with) that I have given them.
So, my main question: If the kids did use the phone line, would NTL be able to force me to pay for those calls?
Must admit though, the time spent hanging on the phone to CS has gone down from almost an hour to just 10 minutes.
