You may have to pay for the remainder of the contract if you're still within the 12 months. Whether NTL will chase you in Poland is a different matter.
If you're not within the 12 months contract, you normally have to give them one month notice

That would be the correct number (I think), but be prepared for a long wait. NTL often do not require the modem to be returned, as they are not very expensive.
Have you had NTL for more than 12 months?
EDIT: Apparently, the number for cancellations is 0800 052 1474 I don't know what their opening hours are.

In that case NTL will probably ask you to pay for another 6 months.

No, I'm not joking. You did sign for a 12 month contract. But, like I said earlier, it seems unlikely that NTL will chase you in Poland. Especially if they don't know where you live

Re: internet cancellation-going abroad
i dealt with a cmr once a fair few months ago now and retentions told me if you are leaving the country for good and can prove it i.e a one way plane ticket you can leave the contract without charge, not 100% on that though that's just what retentions told me, i work in faults and when i checked back on the cmrs account after a lot of confusion with sending photocopies of the ticket in he did not pay out the remainder of his contract and just gave 30 days notice.

Re: internet cancellation-going abroad
Custyomer Service of NTL is a joke. I phoned them today and they kept witching me to other departments. It last for about 1.5 hour!!!! It is a sick company with no respect for their customers. I will simply leave UK and do not care about bb cancellation.

Re: internet cancellation-going abroad
Correct procedure is to write in and advise them a month in advance.
Ive just done that inside of my 12 month contract as i have moved in with my girlfriend and NTL hasnt laid a cable.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread... but did this work RacingDick? I'm trying to cancel remainder of my contract and am moving to an area without NTL cable, but have repeatedly been told that I have to transfer to NTL Freedom and sign a new 12 month contract.
Aaaargh!
