got basic package but charged £19.50 for it

Heres one for you all ,got ntl in july 2003 tv basic pluss phone line,got rid of phone service in october 2004 because of poor service,only just seen that they have been charging us for the 5 months since the price of the family package but we didnt get any family package ,the bill even says basic package on it,only noticed the price diffrence due to looking at an NTL advert,spoke to them to day ,they said they will upgrade our tv package to family,but we are still waiting for it to come through ,has any one any idea how long it takes to change have spoke to them twice today,suppose another day wont mind have been waiting 5 months already

You are still charged for a phone line even if one is not used.

When you asked to have the line taken away they have probably just taken it off the local switch in case it ever needed to be put back on.

Yes you have to pay for a phone line even if you do not have one.

You will have to pay £29 per month for the family pack.

Well the guy on the phone said we would be charged £19.00 a month
i have to wait and see ,thanks for all your info ,sorry for posting in the wrong place
