NTL in the news

Here's an interesting article in our local paper....
http://icteesside.icnetwork.co.uk/01...name_page.html

EDIT: Perhaps this could be put on the main news article page of this site?

Mike Lockey, 65, of Redcar Road, Marske, has his cable television, phone and broadband with ntl.

He told the Gazette he attempted to contact the call centre after his email crashed twice in less than a week, for two days each time.

Mr Lockey, who runs his own DVD business, said he relies on the service as he needs to maintain contact with international customers.

He had hoped to speak to someone about the problem within minutes.

Instead he said he was kept waiting for an hour before his call was dealt with.

"It is horrendous. They just fob you off after you've been waiting for about an hour. I'm not at all happy with the service," he said.

A company spokeswoman said the problem was with the software which Mr Lockey had installed on his PC from another provider not the ntl broadband service.
I jolly well hope he had a business account....

I was thinking that too.

One of the other quotes, from the ex-NTL guy, was quite an insight.

Anyway......same old story really-ntl billing sux, big time, Harmony also sux-we've heard that from ntl associates who have to use it!

I'm also gonna move this to the billing forum, as that's what all those complaints on refer to in that article.

[Edit 2]-Sorry, my bad-having re read that article it makes no mention of him having a business account, I was looking at another article.

Had to laugh at this bit though....

The Gazette website is not very good at including all the pictures on the website (if any) from the articles that also appear in the printed newspaper and usually fail to edit the text in web version accordingly.

If you have a business and live in it too then you could have domestic TV/Phone and you can have business BB/Phone.
Anyway, all this is completely detracting from the point that (mostly) the article was about customer's billing problems (as we have heard from others time and time again on this very forum).

Next time I'll just not bother.

Re: NTL billing in the news (again)

How did software the customer had installed on his PC have any effect whatsoever on the customer's billing?

The only thing that could ever cause that is spyware pr0n diallers, but that doesn't appear to be the case here.

No right to complain if he's not using a business connection.
