Can't join online games since I got ADSL

Hi guys.
I use to have a dial-up connection witch use to used to join dungeon siege online. I then upgraded to ADSL and was all happy because it was faster and such. But for some strange reason I can't join any online games since i got ADSL. Can anyone please try and help me?

To the forum enjoy your stay.Do you use a router??? If so check the firewall settings in the config.

Yes, I do use a telkom ADSL router. I deactivated my firewall. But I still can't join.

What firewall and how have you de-activated it? Some have issues if not shut down correctly

1. I went to control panel
2. Then went to network connections
3. Then I went to my highspeed internet connection's properties
4. I then went to "advanced" and unchecked the box that says: Protect my computer and network by limiting or preventing access to this computer from the internet.

That would be the built in Windows Firewall then. Can you ping your game servers?

I'm running on Windows XP.

I usually joined by going into dungeon siege, then joining Zonematch. (I can still do that)

But when I try to join a match, i get the message no game found at the specified address.

Do you know if you are showing the needed port via your router? The game needs a specific port open to work online:

I was refering to any firewall in the router hence why I asked if you connect though one

How do I find out if the router has a firewall?

I called the ISP to ask if they could open the ports for me, but they didn't know how.

They said that this is the first time they have heard of such a request.

It's ok guys, I finally found out how to forward ports on my modem. Sadly he can only support 20 ports at a time. Dungeon siwege needs 100 ports.

So, if I cancel this router and buy myself a real cable modem, would I still be able to access my telkom account?
