MS Flight sim 2002
Hi
Been playing on this game for a while now, but i want to know if the auto-pilot can help me land a plane!
Been looking on google for a site which may help me to understand how the system works; as yet i have not been able to find one!
Any help will be gratefully received,
Many thanks,

Yes it can, if the airport has the right type of ILS, it's not easy to explain but in a 737 you need to tune one of the NAV radios to the ILS frequency of the runway you're planning to land on, you need to get lined up with the strip probably at least 20 miles out and make sure you're approach the ILS from below, once you flick the autopilot on and enable NAV it should guide you in, you'll probably still have to use the throttle and stick but it's a good way of keeping you on the glide slope.

Thanks for the info - is it possible for the auto pilot to line u up with the runway - that appears to be my main issue!?

Yeah it can line you up, but you have to do it via waypoints when you set the flight up, you use the route planner and drag the line across waypoints then you can set the autopilot to GPS and at every waypoint it'll turn you in the direction of the next one, so you set it so the final waypoint near enough lines up directly with the runway. GPS isn't the ideal way of doing it if you're looking for realism but as yet I'm not sure how to automate tuning to the next waypoints frequency for the NAV radio.

Open the map, find the airport, zoom in and click on the runway, it'll give you the ILS frequency.

Re: MS Flight sim 2002
Purchased a concorde add on pack for flight sim 2002 but cannot get it to take off!
Does anybody know how to at least get it in the air - the traditional throttle increase button (F3) does nothing!
Any help would be gratefully received!
