Darwinia
Has anyone tried this yet?
http://www.darwinia.co.uk/
If you have steam you can download the demo from there.
I've played on it a bit now and it's different, I can't decide if I like it or not yet. It certainly seems very retro and reminds me of 'The Sentinel' on BBC micro.
p.s. it's available for windows linux and mac....

Re: Darwinia
Yes, played the first couple of levels last night - it is different but worthy of your time. Its won a ton of recommendations which is what prompted me to give it a go.
Keep at it!

Re: Darwinia
Its being released on Steam soon (if not already) so hopefully this game will become more popular, it certainly deserves it

Re: Darwinia
LOL - This game is class - there are loads of little surprises. The loading screens are fantastic, when i played yesterday it booted up like a spectrum game with the grey screen in the middle and the red/blue lines round it that you got when you loaded a tape. Today it gave me a Matrix type intro screen and i've also had a rather bizzare screen with what i think is the music from Cannon Fodder and a This game is not endoresed in any way by SENSIBLE SOFTWARE..
Ah the good old days...
Also yesterday when i played it was an Autumy sort of game world, today theres snow and Santa hats...
Did i mention it was a great game too?
So far

Re: Darwinia
I tried Darwinia on Windows and found it to be the most original game I had ever played. Time to buy it for Linux I think.

Re: Darwinia
MMMmmm well defcon is good - although maybe the screams and crying is a tad disturbing when you nuke an enemy city...
Still not a bad game at all.
