Re: Battlefield 2 Special Forces
Its pretty easy to disable the movies in BF2 and BF2 Special Forces.
open my computer and head to the following...(assuming you installed to default location)
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Movies
rename all files in here so they have the extention .back and that will remove movies from BF2... for BF2 SF goto
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\xpack\movies
And do the same in there

Re: Battlefield 2 Special Forces
even easier is to simply remove the movies folder altogether, it causes no probs ingame & definately does not cause a punkbuster kick as I read on another forum

Re: Battlefield 2 Special Forces
Granted thats a quick solution, but I like to keep the folder intact just incase anybody comes around that I want to show the movies to.
Its not often but it beats having to find them on the DVD again.

You don't delete it just drag it into program files folder or my documents, drag it back in an instant if you want the movies again

Re: Battlefield 2 Special Forces
Could you not just change the name of the folder to have movie_s not movies at the end and to reinstate them you remove the _

Re: Battlefield 2 Special Forces
enough bout movie what people think of the game, i love it have played all maps now few times over and happy to say got all my basic badges after a run of rounds last night. . hardest to get was sniper basic. but got it on "devils perch" i think sniping has been tweaked as i could hit nothing in bf2 even though crosshair was on head lol now bang one shot one kill.
i also got a ground defence ribbon but doesnt seem to have been saved i have re opened bf sfs a few times and it just isnt their
favorite map so far; either night flight or devils perch r class.

Re: Battlefield 2 Special Forces
Cracking game, I used to be a big fan of the Novalogic suite until playing BF2, I think Special Forces should have been an update instead of a paid release but either way it adds a new element to the game.
The only thing it needs now is a few different game types ie. Death Match, TDM, Capture the Flag or King of the Hill.

dont know i think the whole aspect of battlefield not having DM and KOH etc makes it better, with Conquest you have all these formats roled into one! you can kill for tickets. . capture flags for tickets and hold positions to keep tickets lol . . its conquest it takes all aspects together. i think BF2 would be crap game if people just ran around in DM or TDM nice to have a goal and aim to work too.

Re: Battlefield 2 Special Forces
I agree it is a new take on the Team King of the Hill games of Nova as in you dont have a specific goal where you .. spawn . run to hill . die . spawn and start all over.
Its just most if not all of the maps are team orientated and the majority of players are go it alone rambo types who will take a multi person vehicle for themselves.
I play as part of a squad and it can be extremely one sided if we play as a whole ie. Teamspeak to pinpoint and selective groups for attack / defence.
If ever you want a laugh join us we have a public team speak server / dedicated 32 player game server and the usual website to accompany it.

i have big problem with the rambo types who take vechicles on their own! they r stupid and show no sign of teamwork.
