Re: Civilization IV

yeah, civ II was my main choice of play a while back, lol, i played a tiny bit of my cousin's civ III, but civ II Gold Edition was realy nice with all the preset scenarios and the like, haha, i wonder, a lot of people mention conquest victories will be much much harder to obtain in this one? i hope so and i hope not, it will make the game really interesting but then again, i always loved totally obliterating all who stand against me, lol

Re: Civilization IV

I love Civ IV way more than CiV III - its a game that has that cracking complexity of the original Civ without the overcomplexity of Civ III which IMO was a cheating son of a b**** mess and just threw loads of units at you. Graphics are excellent and the turorial at the beginning really helps you to get to grips with the new interface (hosted by a virtual Sid Meier no less).

Despite having played a few games at the moment i have still to feel that feeling i got in Civ III where the cheating AI would do any number of things to thwart you (goto with settlers / attacking your weakest city etc?) and for one it feels like (gulp!) a fair game.

The way you handle religion and the way that the swine (soon to be) enemies of your beloved nation have to observe your borders works a treat.

Nukes are pretty useless as is the Space Elevator and the Internet wonders - but there aint nothing like a carefully placed "culture bomb" to make a land grab.

But i suspect this may be balanced out in later patches.

Now - Die Caesar you scum!
