Eurogamer Expo 2012: 27th-30th Sep, Earls Court, London
This year's Eurogamer Expo takes place from Thursday the 27th of September through to Sunday the 30th of September, again at Earls Court in London.
http://www.eurogamer.net/expo/
Hardly any info has been released yet (despite the website saying there'd be info from the 1st of June - I guess they had to wait for E3 to be out of the way). It did finally start to drip feed out this afternoon, with info regarding...
Ubisoft: Assassin's Creed 3 will be playable, plus there will Far Cry 3, Rocksmith, and "a full-size "Disco Bus" showcasing Just Dance 4".
No other detail yet, although there was a comment regarding dev sessions:

We are also cultivating our biggest and most spectacular line-up of developer session speakers for 2012 and will start announcing those soon. Last year BioWare's Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka unveiled the release date for Star Wars: The Old Republic, and we also had Naughty Dog showing Uncharted 3 among many others. Some of the names we have for this year should top that and then some.

Last year's dev sessions were very good, so this year has a lot to live up to.
More info on Tuesday, according to Eurogamer's Twitter.
Last year, I went on the Friday. I saw loads of great games, plus went to two dev sessions: Uncharted 3 and Prey 2. I wish I had also gone on the Saturday, for the BioWare session.
This year, I'm going on the Saturday.
CF members attending:
Saturday - Matt D, Damien
Sunday - Damien

Was it worth it last time?
Also what's the difference between the days? Do you get to see everything on the weekend days or does game depend on day?

Yeah, it was great fun last year. I got to see and play a load of great upcoming games, plus the two dev sessions I went to were excellent. Well worth the ~tenner for the ticket.
IIRC, most stuff is the same no matter what the day is, but there are some differences - e.g. each day has different dev sessions, as mentioned. There's also a "GamesIndustry Fair" on just the Thursday and Friday.
Last year I met up with a bunch of XBL/forum friends from BritXBox. Some of them went for just the one day, some for Friday and Saturday, and some for the whole four days.

Four days is a bit much I would imagine. I am tempted and will probably go on the Weekend but wondering if taking Friday off as well is worthwhile, maybe less queues...

It was packed when I went on the Friday last year. I don't know what the Saturday was like in comparison.

Cheers. Might be worth a look, always wondered if those things would be fun or drive me to a murderous rampage. Either way would be eventful.

Perhaps we should have a cf meet up in there.

"Early bird tickets" (£10, all day) have sold out, as have the early entry tickets (10am instead of 11am).
Still plenty of normal tickets left for each day, £12 all day (11am to 7pm) or £9 for the afternoon only (2pm to 7pm).

Well I'll have to see how I'm doing for money next week because I'd love to go to something like this.

Going to Saturday's one but still debating about Sunday/Friday....What are the 'dev' sessions? Are these targeted at developers or are they developers talking about their games?

Devs talking about the games and answering questions I think.

This.
I went to Naughty Dog's Uncharted 3 session and Human Head's Prey 2 session.
The Prey 2 session was very interesting, and the one for Uncharted 3 was *excellent*.
Naughty Dog's Richard Lemarchand (lead designer on the Uncharted series) showed footage from the game, went over the development, and also had another ND employee up on stage playing through part of the game.
Also present was Nolan North, who does the voice acting and mo-cap for main character Nathan Drake.
North and Lemarchand were both great fun, and made a great double act.
At the end, they took questions from the audience.
One I still remember is this...
Quote:
Audience member: This one's for Nolan - Chloe or Elena?
Nolan North: Why not both

Cool. I booked Saturday and Sunday but I may go for one of the others IF it's a dev session that would appeal to me
Cheers for the heads up Matt. I remember seeing this last year after it had sold out!
