Re: operation flashpoint red river
It is a very, very good game with a lot to offer fans of GRAW and R6 Vegas, maybe not so much to the COD deathmatch fraternity because the only online modes are co-operative. Reviews have criticsed it for not being as hardcore as say ARMA or even Dragon rising but they probably haven't looked further than the normal difficulty mode, believe me the hardcore difficulty level is very challenging and it drastically cuts down the aid systems in your HUD. One of the great things about the game is the re-playability of the campaign mode... the missions are consequence based and can have a different outcome each time you play. You can also replay with the different classes and level them up to unlock better weaponry for use in co-op missions or replay of the campaign missions.
Some of the downsides are that the friendly AI is pretty cranky, there's less emphasis on vehicle (land and air) combat if you are into that sort of thing and you can only play as one unit - no real socom/black missions.
In short it's a more story based, console friendly game than the previous ones but the story is pretty solid and some of the one-liners your potty mouthed staff sgt comes out with are priceless.
