Looks like the Joker and his pals have taken over a section of Gotham. Good plan as setting the game in the same location would have been boring. This way they have access to a bunch of different types of setting.

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum (360/PS3/PC)
Great news. Was watching all the trailers from the games announced at VGA's and they all look awesome tbh.
Really looking forward to what can be done with the True Crime series and also really looking forward to Star Wars the Force Unleashed 2 I'm liking the look of the spec op's game to. The gameplay reminded me a little of Uncharted at points(cover system etc etc) so it did peek my intrest

Re: Batman: Arkham City (360/PS3/PC)
I've not played the first one yet. I think I'll have to get that and Dead Space 1 at some point. A lot of good games coming out over the next year.

Re: Batman: Arkham City (360/PS3/PC)
Dead Space bored me, but Batman: Arkham Asylum was my second favourite game of 2009 (after Uncharted 2).
When you play it, you are "THE GODDAMN BATMAN".

Re: Batman: Arkham City (360/PS3/PC)
I liked it at first, but it soon got very samey & tiresome, IMO.
This thread: It didn't exist last night I split the earlier sequel related posts from the original Batman: AA thread.

Re: Batman: Arkham City (360/PS3/PC)
<bump>
I played this at the Eurogamer Expo last month. It rocked
The reviews are now starting to come out...
Giant Bomb - 5/5
GamePro - 5/5
IGN - 9.5/10
Eurogamer - 9/10
Joystiq - 4.5/5
EDGE - 9/10
1UP - A
Metacritic Metascore - 95/100
One thing to watch out for:
Arkham City joins the growing list of games which come with a special code when purchased new, to use to unlock extra features: in this case - the Catwoman missions. If you buy it second hand, you have to pay if you want the Catwoman missions.

Re: Batman: Arkham City (360/PS3/PC)
I always think it is about which controller you prefer.
I favour the xbox controller, just like the substance, but others will differ
I would have thought the games themselves will be reasonably similar
