re: Mass Effect 3 (360/PS3/PC) [NB: DO NOT POST UNTAGGED SPOILERS!]
Bioware and EA thought it would be fun to launch some into space (using helium balloons) and let the console copies fall to earth, the people who pick em up get the game early and some other prizes also.
First day San Francisco the 2 copies ended up south in high mountain ranges.
Second day Las Vegas, again went south-ish but ended up on top of a 150ft tree, which the park ranger will not allow anyone to come close to it.
They delayed the launch in New York today, but if it does launch wonder what the chances are it will end up on the end of a Statue of Libertie's crown spike, or on top of tump tower on the tip of the radio mast.
They will launch in London on Monday. You can track the course through the site, http://www.masseffect.com/space/
EDIT: Guess the ranger got it down from the tree :P

If people aren't worried about paying just for a key to add to Origin, you can check out gamecards.eu , I use this for my World of Warcraft 60 day cards, and most of the time EA games are cheap there, I got DA2 and Crysis2 for £15 each.
ME3 is around £25 for standard edition, they will have digital deluxe editions soon, maybe around the £35 for that.
Only problem is you won't get the pre-order bonus for the standard edtion.

Sucks for those that ordered through Game / Gamestation / Gameplay
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/20...games-past-ssx
I've had the standard edition pre-ordered from Amazon since last summer, as Game were supposed to have the exclusive rights to the N7 Collectors Edition the UK.
Now it seems it's available at amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...cm_cd_asin_lnk

When I take a couple of days off work to play releases such as this, I don't want to leave the house, dammit
(and more often than not, it gets delivered before release)

Not always the case with Limited/Collector's Editions... especially for something like this.

What's Zavvi like for pre-ordering? I need a new place to get mine from but I'm not sure what site to get it from.

re: Mass Effect 3 (360/PS3/PC) [NB: DO NOT POST UNTAGGED SPOILERS!]
As for the GAME situation....
I only found out at lunchtime via Twitter and Facebook. I tried Shopto, but they had already sold out of the 360 N7 edition, so I ended up pre-ordering with Play.com.
Later in the afternoon I finally received an email from GAME, telling me that the pre-order I had placed way back last summer for the 360 N7 edition had now been cancelled.
EA has since added more retailers... Shopto, Zavvi, Blockbuster, Gamestop, Play, Amazon.
Shopto sold out quickly, at least of the 360 N7, as did Play.
Zavvi and Gamestop seem to have sold out of the 360 N7 some time this afternoon (fine when I checked before, gone when I got home from work).
Amazon and Blockbuster still had it up a short while ago.
Due to worry regarding Play being able to get it to me on release (given what I have read from people who've used Play to pre-order previously...). I've placed a second pre-order with Amazon, with 1 day delivery. Whichever one comes second will get sold at cost.

Not sure, never used them. They don't have the N7 anymore, but do still have the normal edition.

re: Mass Effect 3 (360/PS3/PC) [NB: DO NOT POST UNTAGGED SPOILERS!]
For a short (a very short) while, the N7 CE was only £55 at Amazon this morning. I thought about it, but decided to stick with the standard version.
Not interested in all the fluff that comes with it and I've got the standard versions of 1 + 2 so it would ruin the look of my game shelf (although, cover will be swapped for fem shep)
I've always pre-ordered games with Amazon, everything has always been delivered a day early with their free super saver delivery option, except Mafia 2 and that was two days early.

That's good - I would have expected games sent by super saver to turn up late!
