FIFA World Cup Game
Anyone got this or thinking of getting it?
I got my copy yesterday and it is actually very good! The default reaction to this game is to label it as a mere re branding exercise of FIFA 10 but there are quite a few reasons why it is a worthwhile upgrade IMO.
First of all they have done quite well in designing the menus, the graphics and the sound to create quite a nice feeling to the game. The celebrations have improved again, the noise in the stadium as improved, the player animations and likenesses have improved. It feels and sounds like the World Cup.
The gameplay has some good improvements, passing can be slicker now, players of quality can trap the ball a lot better from passes and crosses and goal keepers are better. Harder to chip and they don't let headers from corners get past them as easily as they did before. The feeling of scoring a goal compared with the sound and visuals is an improvement too. Penalities have been completely revamped. You can risk a hard, high
All in all very good.

Re: FIFA World Cup Game
Got it on the 360 on release day. They have outdone this game in every which way I can think of. The only thing that annoyed me at first is that say you play a team like Portugal for example it will change the difficulty setting to match the CPU. I.e i set it to Semi Pro and it set it to Legendary. Changed it within the game options though . Have you played the full world cup starting from the qualifying or just the finals? I like the manager cutscenes as well when the ball goes out of play. Especially Capello

Only played online WC with Palestine & Iraq so far. Haven't got out of the group but had some decent games.

Re: FIFA World Cup Game
Anyone else finding it harder to defend in this game?
My players seem to be a lot less disciplined about holding their line, I am immensely susceptible to runs and though balls no matter how careful I try to be. The players don't track runs and my wing backs like to play people onside for no earthly reason. Just a lot less willing to maintain the shape of the team.
I not sure if the default tactics for all the teams are different, some gameplay issue has changed or what.
Also, My standing tackles seem less effective, their players stagger and carry on going.
