I thought you were joking when you posted this until I googled it, I have to say that would be on my top 10 list, I remember Elite from the Amiga days, and Frontier, Both were really good. The only thing thats come close in todays era is Freespace, which is also good, but not the same.
I imagine Elite 4 having really superb graphics to go along with the gameplay, making the whole experience even more intense. Imagine flying through the atmosphere to dock at a station on the planet, and perhaps seeing water droplets forming on the cockpit window, and storms, we can but imagine.
roll on I say, cant wait.

I still prefer the BBC 'B' version.
Anyway if you liked the elite 2 / 3 you should look here If you liked the original elite maybe do a search for elite:The New Kind or oolite.
edit - and here for the latest elite news

Yep, I had a BBC Model B and Elite was my favourite game. I remember myself and a mate sitting for a couple of hours after school every night in order to get up to Elite status.

Re: Your Most Eagerly Awaited Games List
BF Bad Company 2 seems to be getting a few people excited. And as Zing says a New Medal of Honour could be good. But after recent PC format game debacles, especially Call of Duty MW2, I refuse to get excited until after the release.

Re: Your Most Eagerly Awaited Games List
Well I'm looking at getting AvP deluxe set from Game it has a life siz facehugger, but £70 is steep.
Lego Harry Potter (360), I've only seen the first film, but I have all the other Lego games.
I've tken BF:BC2 (360) off my list, I've downloaded the demo and had a bash, but its suffering big time from lag, and sniping from a distance is impossible as not matter how many times I've hit the target they still don't die, and shot and kill me with one shot. (On BF:BC1 I was deadly as a sniper.)
But the min reason I cancelled my order was the fact that nobody plays as a team and new talk to each other, which is vital to achieve your objectives and win the game.

I've got BC2 pre-ordered for £25 on 360. You think it's worth that? I loved sniping on the first game too.
