Bad Company 2
has anyone got/been palying the beta yet?
couldn't get on a d/l server till 11.30ish lastnight, but when i did must have got a good 'un as pulled it down in under 10mins.
first thoughts, well looks good. but the controls were slugish as hell. and either it was me not looking but i couldn't find a key to go prone  . game browser crashes all the time, promising but there is lots for ea/dice to have to work on/fix.
the first 30 mins experience was positive - i was pawning untill it started to lag and then i couldn't shoot ****.
the jury is out............

If it's the same as BC1 then you can only crouch, no prone.

that's just plain wrong - i'm sure you could go prone in 2142. essentially to me it seems that this is 2142 with a different skin and a few tweaks/changes.

2142 was just bf2 with a new skin. This looks mch better. No prone key though, which I hope they add to the retail. I'm not sure if it's to stop the dolphin divers that we saw on bf2, but it need to be there for the sniper.

well for sniping and any accurate shots/re-supply/medic duties, i mean under fire are you gonna just be stood/crouched to revive somebody?

Played the PS3 beta and got the PC beta lastnight but not had chance to play that yet. If its anything like the PS3 beta then its will be brilliant. Don't know what to do tonight. Got Mass Effect 2, Star Trek Online headstart or BFBC2 Beta to choose from !

try fileplay servers, i just did a free reg on the site and got one of the london servers @ 2.5meg

I hope they get rid of the knife beating a gun fault that all the war sims have.
I don't mind being knifed while I'm not looking but when they're "miles" away and knife kill you that that the mick.
So after tonights demo I might/might not cancel the BF:BC2 order.

well surpirse surprise there is a patch already - ok it's not really a surprise for a beta, but less that 24hrs after release.

However, I set it running before I went out for a meal, came back and it's finished.
