Re: Bad Company 2
I just found this: "Tips & Tricks: How Not to be a Noob at Battlefield Bad Company 2"
I'm only on the second gun on Assault, the one you use in the SP. It's not that bad, & I didn't have any real problems with the starting gun (the one that looks like an AK). Later guns should be a lot better though. One thing that helps with whichever gun you have on Assault: SHORT CONTROLLED BURSTS. Crazy spraying gets you nowhere. I've got had some good kills, at a fair distance, by firing nice short controlled bursts.
I need to play more Recon. I don't like the starting rifle, & the 1st one you unlock is worse (higher rate of fire, but lower damage & range).

That's the thing with bolt-action though. They sort of even each other out.

Re: Bad Company 2
Just had a good round. Kills - 25, Deaths - 3 If only they would patch the constant crashing it would be near perfect.

I'm about to buy either BC2 or MW2..can't make my mind up, opinions ? It's not a cost issue, I just don't have the time time to play both though I'll probably end up buying both eventually. Xbox 360 btw.

Re: Bad Company 2
I have MW2, good game but similar in playing to old MW, which can get boring quickly (talking about online play). MY main issue is with connection, despite 20mb (issue is probably upload).
Hearing good things about BC2...but lads here will give you chapter and biblical verse

Re: Bad Company 2
personal choice... BF:BC2
ok, so it's had server issue at the start, but they are sorting them. I'm currently finding things better each time I log on now. In fact, the last few times I have logged on, I've had no issues at all and the server list is getting faster to load too. But on playability levels, I honestly thing BC2 is far better.

Re: Bad Company 2
This game is certainly better for MP for me. It's an excellent game and there's some excellent maps.

Re: Bad Company 2
I'd have to agree with most others that BFBC2 MP is much better. It has had its issuses but as Bender says they are being sorted out now. I've had a good couple games and am really enjoying it. Only thing for me is I the hope they fix the CDT issue soon.

Re: Bad Company 2
I seem to be at odds with most people's thinking. I prefer MW2 for online and BFBC2 for single player. Although it's short, I prefered the storyline and the gameplay of the single player with BFBC2. I wish they would spend a little more time on the single player rather than just tacking it on to the side. BFBC2 online is not what I expected. After everyone had raved about the past games and seeing the videos I thought it would be better. It's ok, way above average, but not what I'd hoped for. A friend bought it at the same time and plays team deathmatch games normally, he said that deathmatch is pointless as everyone seems to go for the sniper and camps forever, so it takes ages to get any kills. He spent over an hour in one game because nobody was moving and nobody was getting any kills.
My gripes, snipers, too many and the scopes are rock solid, so basically you hit what you look at with no problems. In a lot of games you get too many snipers, maybe 50% of the players are sniping. The other issue, NOBODY talks! Ok, in MW2 you don't get everyone talking and you get some 'banter', but in BFBC2 I've never heard another player speak. As it's a squad game, this makes it pointless. You get no backup from everyone, it's like people think they're in a single player game or something. You get in a tank and unless you have someone with a brain on your team, you never get anyone on the machine gun, because no-one else gets in with you. People spawn and run headlessly towards the M-COM, instead of working together or hang around sniping from 10 miles away.
I'll keep on playing it until I've got all the achievements, but if it hasn't picked up then and people haven't learnt how to play it properly, I'm trading it in.

All fair points. Its just a case of what you want from a MP game and BF:BC2 is more what I want than COD. Have you tried the Conquest mode ? Tbh thats the only mode I play at the moment. Seems much more action going on. Its like Domination in COD. Its by far my favorite mode.

Personally, I prefer BC2.
I enjoy it a lot more than MW1/2, & I also think it seems fairer on those who don't have the time to spend hours online every day. With MW2, I didn't like the Perk system, & I always felt punished for not playing non-stop, it always seemed overly unbalanced to me. With BC2, although obviously there is still a ranking system & weapon unlocks etc., IMO it works better than MW & doesn't put me off playing.
Re. what Charlie_Bubble said: Some valid points. Especially re deathmatch games - pointless in BC2 IMO. I think it's just tacked on, BC2 is really all about the objective games (Rush & Conquest) - I wouldn't bother with it at all for DM. As for not many talking, that's true, although I rarely bother using my headset on XBL anyway due to the muppets you find online. It's best if you're playing with Friends rather than randoms, as you'll get better communication & teamwork, but I have still had some excellent games when playing only with randoms, with some really good Squads. Excess snipers? Hunt them down & knife them!

Re: Bad Company 2
The thing about BC2 is alot of people use party chat. We always help eachother and discuss tactics. For example, earlier there was me, my cousin and his 2 mates. We had a few Recon for the C4, a Medic and an Assault. We stormed one of the buildings with an objective in and covered the walls with C4, ran out and blew them all up. Down went the building and objective with the enemy team inside.

Re: Bad Company 2
Charlie raised some good points about BC2 there. I happen to play online with 3 or 4 friends each time and we all talk on a skype conversation. this means we jump in a squad and do actually talk. if there is more than 4 of us, or we can't manage to get in the same squad, we can still talk. I think that makes a lot of difference thb. you do need to think and work together.

Re: Bad Company 2
Playing conquest last night and starting to enjoy it a bit more. Still think that there are some players that really need to watch that video posted by Matt D. It's quite demoralising to be on a team that isn't very good!

Re: Bad Company 2
I haven't tried Conquest yet, been having too much fun with Rush. Although as icestar2 says it's quite like Domination, I think I'd love it. That was my fave game mode in MW1/2 too.
I have had some very mixed teams. When I was playing on Friday night, my team was awesome. Epic win after epic win. Last night, however, the team I was with at one point was not at all as good. No team work, everyone going solo, & people just standing around elsewhere while the M-COM stations got blown up by the enemy Did get better later on, but by then it was way too late & I really had to go to bed!
Oh, & I have these words of advice for anyone on the 360 who joins a game with me: Do not, under any circumstances, ever get in a helicopter which has me as a pilot. They tend to crash... upside down...
I gave Recon another go last night. Had a much better time with it than the first time, but I still prefer Assault. Need to give Medic & Engineer a proper go still. The only time I've been an Engineer was when I re-spawned as one so I could take out a tank with the RPG, and I've only been a Medic briefly a couple of times by picking up a team-mate's kit so I could revive them.
