Exclamation Connecting to PS3 on same ISP?

My brothers house is 15M away and on TalkTalk (belkin router, NAT type 2 open)
I was on TalkTalk (belkin router, NAT typoe 2 open)

we both could connect to games and host them,

but could never have a private match between us, error msg said could not connect to host.

Now im on Virgin media 10mb using supplied equipment we can now for the 1st time have a p[rivate match between us,

He has got VM coming to install on the 19/01/10

are we going to have the same probs again?
