Signs Of A Lag Switch In Use?

Hi, I was playing PES 10 last night on line, and I think I was cheated by someone using one of the lag switches. I've never heard much about them, so was wondering if anyone knew if this sounded like the effects of one;
I usually do pretty rubbish on PES 10 against human opponents, but last night I scored an early goal and the next thing I knew, the game continued at the correct pace, but my players became unresponsive to my controls, and there was about a two or three second delay between me pressing, say, pass and my player actually passing the ball.
My opponent seemed to not be effected at all by it.

Well if he were hosting the game and you were playing on his conneciton, there is a good chance it was just normal lag

PES 10 doesn't seem to lag like the earlier games in the series, and this seemed to favour him so much.
Maybe I am a litlle suspicious, and should get over it.
