New MOH game announced
Quote:
EA has officially announced the new Medal of Honor game for release on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2010.
Simply called "Medal of Honor", the game is set in present-day Afghanistan and focuses on Tier 1 Operators - super army soldiers, in other words - who get involved in situations all around the world.

So looks like they're moving into the modern arena too.

Re: New MOH game announced
if its good and has dedicated servers it will be a success and I am sure EA would love to flip the bird on Activision and IW

Re: New MOH game announced
my roots in MP gaming was Quake 2 then MOHAA then MOHSH after a very long break and finding the clan here playing it so I joined in and owned them lol lol . COD CODUA COD2 all cuz of the clan here, always prefered MOH myself and never really got into COD as much and never really liked Modern warfare as an MP game

Re: New MOH game announced
I hope it surpasses spearhead, MOH & MOHSH are probrably the best MP FPS games ever made for the PC, went downhill a bit with Pacific Assault & Airbourne, although the latter was the better of the 2. Hopefully by release I'll have mastered the console pad and enjoy gaming like I used to, finding accuracy & speed rather lacking\difficult to get the hang of

Re: New MOH game announced
Might be good, unless they abandon it and never produce any online map packs as they did with Airborne.

Re: New MOH game announced
Hmmm intresting move. It will no doubt get slatted before its even out for copying IW's but if done right it could be a great success. Especially if they support their roots with PC gamers. EA look to be pumping out some decent FPS games over the next year or two with this, BFBC2 and BF3

Re: New MOH game announced
Nothing wrong with copying IW's style in MW2, in fact it could be a winner. Especially if they resist trying to turn our gaming pcs into consoles and keep the dedi servers etc.
I'm done with IW now so I'm hoping that EA can pick up the ball and run with it.

Dont get me wrong I dont think there's anything wrong with them taking this route as its what the majority of gamers seem to want. I was just pointing out that I could see it getting slatted if its anything less than perfect.

There will always be 'knockers' I guess.
Writing and producing a FPS game is a hard line to tread I think. It's probably easy for the designers to get carried away with graphics effects and fancy ideas such as Airborne when what we really need is that 'playability' that COD4 managed to give so well. To hit the sweet spot between the two must be the hardest thing to do.
