sky players and non-sky customer

hi,

Just got the download for the sky player and havving a look through it.
I'm not a sky subscriber and dont see the point of paying £35 a month for sky to to have the privalege of using my xbox for me to watching their channels. How would sky know if I got my neighbours sky details and used them to register my console seeing as its via cable not satelite?

I know its not right/illegal and I'm not planning on doing it but I could imagine some other dodgy people do it.

You could obviously use their login with permission.

Re: sky players and non-sky customer

can you log into sky player from multiple locations, or would it boot you off when your neighbours logged on?

I dont know but my neighbour does not have an xbox and I know they have multi-room.

Re: sky players and non-sky customer

I would hope that Sky & MS would not be so stupid as to leave such a flaw in the 360 Sky Player.

MS know the address associated with an XBL Gold account.

Sky know the address associated with a Sky TV account.

Surely they can check that the address of the Sky account holder matches that of the XBL Gold account holder.

However, as this "hypothetical" situation involves trying to obtain a service which has not been paid for, and is, in your own words, "not right/illegal", I'm going to close this thread. [The same as a thread would be closed if it involved discussing obtaining e.g. VM services without paying for them.]
