Blizzard have put up the trailer for the next expansion.

I'm split over this, a lot of it looks pretty cool, but some stuff just doesn't fit with the game as I remember it

A lot of discussion on this on a number of gaming/WoW forums I'm on, generally people aren't impressed and feel that WoW could be down to the last 1% with the raid at full health against it. It feels like they've ran out of idea's so are recycling the old stuff.

No doubt Blizz already have it's predecessor lined up, as well as Diablo 3 and Starcraft II to look forward to.

Have to say that WoW was great at first, and it's longevity shows what a great game it was, but it's gone downhill the more it got dumbed down with each major patch and expansion.

There is a new Blackrock Mountain raid... So, who knows...

Anywho, i will take a look at it and try it out for a month.

Having looked at the trailer, I am in two minds about what thy are going to do with the established kingdoms of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdom. Completely changing the landscape, changing control of smaller towns to horde from alliance and visa versa......this may not sit well with some, however it does shake things up.

Mainland Azeroth will now be subject to flying mounts and I suspect the landmass changes are part of that because Blizzard had said how difficult it would be to make the mainlands able to handle flying mounts - they used the story line for Hydjal as an example.

Couple of new races will hold some interest, as well as a new profession - archaeology.

I'll suggest that to the hardened fans, those still playing regularly since reaching level 80 will welcome this expansion, and it will bring back some players who crashed and burned out when they got to 80.

Don't write off Blizzard on this one, there isn't an on-line game out there that attracts the devotion of so many players.
