I think your right m8. There are a couple other big hitters this year that it will have to compete with but it definitely has a very good chance.

So, where's the cheapest place to pre-order for PC?
Amazon have it at £26.99. I've seen it for £23.99 on CD WOW but it's the US version ( link) Can anyone see any downsides to getting the US version, and saving a few pounds?

I can't wait!
I wish I'd pre-ordered the 360 Collector's Edition though... first time I've ever seen a "Limited" Edition that actually was Limited!

Once the game is out next week (plus I understand some may be playing it already...) may I please ask that people use Spoiler Tags* when posting anything regarding the game's various twists, shocks, revelations & any other plot points... given that it is a highly story-driven game, and not everyone will be playing at the same pace. It would also help if, when posting spoiler-tagged stuff, people could give some sort of non-spoiling context so that others know if it is safe to read the spoilers or not, e.g. maybe just mention how many hours into the main story you are, something like that.
Also, if anyone is subscribed to this thread, and doesn't want to be spoiled, I would recommend disabling email notifications, as I believe that the emails contain the full text of any new post
* (enclose text within (spoiler) & (/spoiler) - but using [] brackets instead of () brackets...or just use the button)

How limited is the limited edition version? Just I'm actually starting to get into ME1 now and if the price isn't too high on the limited editions of games, then I tend to get that version.

re: Mass Effect 2 (360/PC) [No Spoilers unless within Spoiler Tags!]
Well, it's limited enough that it's not possible to pre-order the 360 version anymore
The PC version is still available at GAME/Gameplay though, £40.
The Limited Collector's Edition contains the following in addition to the game itself:
# Dark Horse Comic Issue #1 Edition
# Hardcover Art Book
# Bonus DVD
# Exclusive In-Game Armour
... all in one of those tin things rather than a standard DVD case.

I agree with Matt regarding the Spoiler tags. Please keep in mind not everyone plays at the same pace. I dont actually look at the subscribed thread's notifications in my email anymore because the tags wont work in that I just come straight to the thread when I receive one.

Re: Mass Effect 2 (360/PC) [No Spoilers unless within Spoiler Tags!]
I just completed the first one. Considering I was upto Noveria when I begin my session earlier, I'm suprised at how fast time flew by. I take back everything bad I said about the game, except of course about the frame rate issues. I picked Captain Anderson for the new chairman, the Ambassador was a douche. Now I just gotta see what deals there is for ME2. Also, if I do another playthrough then what should I use instead of the normal Shepard?

Have you actually downloaded them, without having ME2 loaded? Certainly looks like a mistake - pity I can't try downloading until this evening.

Re: Mass Effect 2 (360/PC) [No Spoilers unless within Spoiler Tags!]
I just downloaded them all. Can you not set them to download and then get someone to turn on the 360?
