I played it a bit last night until my partner dragged me off to bed. Did the first mission so just got on my own ship. Not done anything after that yet, will play more later on this evening.

Played about an hour lastnight. just got past the Ship control mission and landed on some planet. Will try some more tonight probably. Not sure what I think of it yet.

Just finished the Azura mission and before I could inform an admiral to confirm the mission the servers go down

Yeah same happened to me on one of the orion missions...i was battling with a team of 5 and we'd just completed it

Also - Pricing has been announced, pre-orders get the chance to pay a one-off Lifetime Subscription of £153.99+VAT (Roughly £180), which I am considering as I don't want to pay a monthly fee really. I generally get bored of games but then go back to them later on. It would be good to know I could do this without further purchases

I just got mine from HMV. Problem is is used a code from elsewere and am not usre I can use this one now. I dont think the code I used gives you the head start just before launch so want to use this one. Should of just waited

Yes its been logged as a bug, and Cryptic are putting some new servers in asap to cope. Its the first weekend day of open beta....so its expected to be busy...keep trying is the advice

Yep, got in a few times, enough to battle a few orions over some comms platforms and then scan the data probes before destroying the base, half way though that patrol atm with still 2 systems to go..

Ship is now getting modified, a cool pink color, uprated deflector, disruptor on both points and a nice regenerative Mk2 shield, want some better torpedoes though my tactical officer does wonders at increasing thier yield for 30 secs, more than enough time to drop someone elses shields from 10clicks and then destroy half thier hull

This is me waving goodbye to my social life:

I wanted this game to suck, but, I can't stop playing it.

Reroute power to the forward shields, just need to fire off one more torpedo..

Now I've got my new ship I need to work out if it's better to go 1 beam weapon 2 torps on the forward weapons, or stick with the 2 beams 1 torp... shields seem to go down fast enough, especially when I unleash the tachyon beams on them... so maybe the raw destructive power of double torps is the way forward.
