I think I'll wait till closer to the release date when all the deals start for Christmas.
The new Need for speed is £44.99 on GAME (RRP £55)

I'll kiss goodbye to gaming if everyone starts to do this.

There's no way I'd pay £55 for MW2, no matter how excellent it is likely to be.

Still, Amazon & Argos both have it available to pre-order at around £45, & I'm sure most other retailers will charge the same.

Tbh its a disgrace to hike up the price like this. They are already going to make a massive, massive profit based on the massive install base that think COD is the be all and end all of gaming. I know I wont be buying it at that price but there's always places to get it a bit cheaper.

I'd like to see some kind of regulation that could act on things like this within the gaming industry.

EA are in for a big shock if they think their going to get any decent sales at that price. The NFS series has been going down hill badly for a while now(since Most Wanted imo). Pro Street was a disgrace and Undercover did little to improve on it though it did add some intresting game modes. But when you can fall through the floor in the middle of a race into blackness with no way out without resetting your console then you know somethings really wrong with that game.

With each new NFS EA have been losing more and more of its install base and when your trying to hike up the price after that then the game better be somthing very special otherwise EA are going to have to shut that franchise down which they almost did last year.

I have only just recently bought Pro Street (£10 HMV sale)

I personally think its a great game over all with a few issues but its by far the last good NFS game released.

But EA have priced most of their recent next gen games at £50 however most retailers usually sell them for £40.

I am tempted by the Prestige edition. The Night Vision googles look cool, but I bet they don't work that well.

Loving that the Prestige and Hardened edition come with a voucher for a free copy of COD from the PSN or Live Arcade! That's a great bonus.

Isn't that a bit over the top? Not buying an other COD game just cause they aren't doing the Coll Ed version on PC? I think most collectors edition's recently have only been for consoles.

I think £69.99 for the hardened edition is a bit steep though.

Well as I have posted in the past about how I feel regarding the Perk system you would know it would not take much to turn me totally aways from a franchise. So no I do not think it is over the top. CoD was a PC game it was born a PC game so to see a franchise treat those that made it a success sucks so again I say no its not over the top. I will play the single player game but I will not buy it to play it online. Sorry if you do not like my stance Stephen but those who know me know how I feel

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Apparently if you pre-order the normal version from Argos & use the code "game20" you get it for ~£35 instead of the already reduced pre-order price of ~£45.

Money is taken upon ordering though if you do it this way, rather than on dispatch.

How much??? No wonder people pirate them. I won't pay that much for a computer game, EVER.

I paid £30 for CoD4:MW for the PC, and that was pushing it. I usually wait and get them when they're about £15 or £20 even if that means waiting years.
