Hired Guns (old DMA Design Amiga game) & Frontier: Elite II.
I spent so many hours on Frontier. And Hired Guns because four player split-screen gaming has never been done better.

What Game & Why
Ok.............
So I'm sat here unable to sleep and im thinking back to my childhood, as you do, and i was wondering what game would i like to see hit the PC as a remake...........
I came up with about 3 different ones, so I want to know what ones you want to see come back, remastered.
I know already that Elite is being remade, I wasnt aware of this, but heres my list along with Why...
1) X-Com - UFO Defense
Firstly this game still amazes me even today, its a really addictive game but i feel it lacks the graphics and user interface.
I would "LOVE" to see them re release this and make it more up to date, perhaps making use of Multiplayer.
Just imagine putting a team together using an online server, and acting out your role in the group, yes please.
2) Jimmy Whites Whirlwind Snooker
Ok fair enough, Im sad, but is it me or do the releases nowadays to do with pool and snooker just do not have the physics right.
this game for me was spot on and it was hard, games now along the lines of pool and snooker are too easy, i want this remade.
3) Kick Off 2
Totally awesome game that i think most companies have overdone it in 3D
Games like Pro Soccer just are not the same as this, again the physics of this were awesome, so simple but so effective.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/7760/ Not a remake but still, and the other 2 well there have been plenty of Football games and Snooker games made since that have been a huge improvement on the original in terms of gameplay and playability.

DOOM! Wow that brings back memories, I used to design deathmatch levels for us to play over the company network at lunchtimes. I liked the auto up/down aiming, made carnage soo much easier.
Hey it's still installed in a backwater directory and still runs. I had the collectors edition and the extra bonus levels in "Thy flesh consumed" were too difficult for me.
Same game play but with hi-res graphics would be good.

Highway Encounter (Spectrum) - Best game evar!
Tau Ceti (and Academy)
Alien8
Carrier Command (Atari ST - bit boring, but strangely compelling)
Elite
Xenon-2
Uridium (spelling?)
..... aaaarrrghhhh!
Nostalgia overload!
(.... and an honourable mention for 'Hunt The Wumpus' on TI-99 ROM cartridge.)

Re: What old games do you want to see again ?
Anyone remember Colossal Cave? (XYZZY) Played that on an Intel development system. And before that Star Trek, using a teleprinter until the company bought a VDU.
Hunt the Wumpus - that was one of the earliest too, wasn't it? Guess the co-ordinates.
More recently Wriggler for the Spectrum (the Romantic Robot version) and Crazy Taxi (what platform was that?) Mrs P used to spend hours on both. On Crazy Taxi you got extra points for getting close to oncoming traffic. She gave up the game when she suddenly realised she was doing the same on the way to the supermarket.
Dangermouse and the Black Forest Chateau on the Spectrum.
And later still, Settlers on the PC.
Could never get the hang of Elite.
Doom got banned at work cos it was blocking the network.

Re: What old games do you want to see again ?
Crazy Taxi was on the Dreamcast originally. It was ported to the PS2 afterwards, I believe.

This is worth a go it's not multiplayer, but it's well worth a play. Essentially just a remake, but it's a lot harder, with tons of new tech.

Awesome, looks good, thanks for that. Might have to start saving up for this.

Well worth the money, I have absolutely played that game to death!! Still not as good as the original, I don't think anything ever could be but the interface is much better and the graphics are a lot better too.
I think the only thing I don't like is that your soldiers can't die, they just get wounded and spend x-days in hospital depending on how severe their wounds are. Ironically in the original I hated how easy your soldiers died, I think I would have proffered it somewhere in the middle (i.e. not too easy like in the original but not impossible like the new game).
I think as a development from this I would like to see a version played from the Aliens perspective, hopefully allowing for turn based multiplayer games (Humans V Aliens). Will probably never happen since the original is a cult game and the new one even more so.
