Re: What old games do you want to see again ?
Bah, I hate these threads, whenever they come up I end up losing several weeks of my life re-playing Elite.
I'm currently experimenting with an excellent open source re-invention of the game called Oolite. It started out on the Mac but has been ported to Windoze and Linux. It has all the classic elements but is massively expandable with new ships, sounds, missions and other paraphernalia. Loads of fun, and loads of hours wasted ...

Re: What old games do you want to see again ?
oolite is ok - but TNK is the way to go
The best BBC 'B' version I've played.
The best version I've played is still probably the archimedes version.

Re: What old games do you want to see again ?
I guess it depends on whether you're looking for a nostalgia trip or not. I played TNK extensively a few years back when I had it illicitly loaded on my work laptop (as TNK is PC-only), in preference to Oolite, which I had loaded on the Mac at the same time, as at the time I was trying to re-live my childhood.
However now I'm looking for something with a new twist, and the dozens of add-on missions, ships and other assorted gadgetry in Oolite could keep me busy for months. I'm really only scratching the surface so far, tweaking the way the universe looks ... then when I'm happy with it I'm going to start trading. I've just added a nice set of new textures for the planets, which has also given each planet its own moon.
I'm like a kiddie in a sweet shop.

oh there's a challenge if ever I heard one! if they still have it at namco, bring it on missy Kymmy!
Anton was gutted that I even beat him at it there, we never play it on gc anymore cos I always win, though he says he just doesn't want to play cos it's boring...

Another vote here for X-Wing / Tie Fighter Star Wars series. If they could create the same battles with modern graphics capabilities, and even better a true multiplayer game it could be awesome.

Re: What old games do you want to see again ?
TRansport Tycoon, low end graphics, but simply hours of playbility.
