Re: Nintendo DS - R4/Edge Cards
Yeah, it's not good.
The original ones have been great and have kept the other half quiet for hours (and hours, and hours, and hours), but this latest one is a shabby affair

Even the Micros SD > USB dongle is cheap and crappy!

Re: Nintendo DS - R4/Edge Cards
Ive made a comment on the site but it appears to be blanked. What use is a starred review if negative results are blanked?

Re: Nintendo DS - R4/Edge Cards
That's why I didn't bother. I get the same problem with amazon, I've left a couple of negative reviews there and they never get published.
My other concern is that I'm waiting for something else from these clowns that's currently 'out of stock' - if it's not here by the end of the week I'll have all the fun of trying to get that order cancelled as well.....

Re: Nintendo DS - R4/Edge Cards
Sorry im a bit new to this idea you can get a memory card for a ds and i can play music etc on it. how cool i thought they were just for games. Just as i thought i have it sussed you confuse the issue by saying the R4 card from memorybits is not so great now!!! For us novices (and thats being kind) where would you recommend to try for a decent R4 card.

Re: Nintendo DS - R4/Edge Cards
I got 2 of these a couple of weeks ago from memorybits and I've not had any problems. Maybe I've just been lucky. I agree that the USB dongle is rather crap.
Probably teaching my Granny to suck eggs but did you put the latest system software on these cards?

Re: Nintendo DS - R4/Edge Cards
just seen this
Quote:
Sales of the R4 cartridge, which allows users to play pirated DS games, have been outlawed in Japan.
According to Kotaku, the Tokyo District Court has granted an injunction against the Chinese manufacturers who produce the R4. As a result, it's officially illegal to sell the cart, and the R4 has already disappeared from shops.

Re: Nintendo DS - R4/Edge Cards
But laws here are likely to be different. MrModChip I think it was recently won a court case for selling modchips because they were deemed to be for other uses other than piracy

Re: Nintendo DS - R4/Edge Cards
they mean my kids dont have to take hundreds of pounds worth of games out with them which would far out weigh the cost of replacing the ds if lost
and gives them all the games we have bought to play rather than picking and choosing ( saves a ton of time and arguments )
the board would have to ban discussion of mp3 players if they were to ban these lol
any one know any that work with the new dsi as i might get myself one of those
