Anyone having a dabble in this? got 10/10 on Eurogamer and Oblivion with plasma weapons etc sounds a bit tasty!

Re: Fallout 3
I got it yesterday. I'm only about 2 hours in, and so far so good. The attention to detail is phenomenal. A sci-fi Oblivion is a perfect description.

Re: Fallout 3
I'm going to get it eventually, but not for a while.
Too many other games out now/soon.
Plus, as I still haven't finished Oblivion, there's little point in me getting what looks like an SF Oblivion with guns 'till I've finally finished saving Cyrodiil, especially as I assume that Fallout 3 is likely to be at least as huge.

Re: Fallout 3
Xmas I think - got a week off, looks like the type of thing that needs your attention. It's doing the rounds at work - the opening sequence was very nice - I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire - Ink Spots - very BioShock then goes all Nuclear Apocalypse. Also I will/should have a better Gfx card in by then.

Re: Fallout 3
I know exactly what you mean, and not sure, it is deffo 3rd but it might go into or be able to go into 1st. That 3rd thing is the only bit that has me doubting it.

Re: Fallout 3
Hearing it being likened to Oblivion makes me yawn and puts me off getting this. God, Oblivion was a crap game!

You can switch between third and first person views in Oblivion.... not sure if this game is the same but I picked it up earlier so I'll be playing it tomorrow and will duly find out.

It's either. You can switch between them at any time.

Re: Fallout 3
Been playing this for a while just and it's shaping up quite nicely, moreso than the mind numbingly dull Mass Effect. The initial part of the story is quite involving as you are guided through your initial character creation phase so save it before you leave the vault (shades of leaving the sewers in Oblivion). Only criticism up to now is that the controls seem a little bit clunky and the graphics aren't quite as polished as some of the latest games.

Re: Fallout 3
Despite it being compared to Oblivion, I bought it today. Have to finish Lego Batman that I rented from Blockbuster before playing though.
Heads up to everyone, it's only £29 in Sainsburys for the first week of release!

Re: Fallout 3
The V.A.T.S cinematic targetting/combat system is superb! You can still blast away FPS style if you choose to do so but the slo-mo bullet-time sequences really add a lot of weight to the combat especially with a well placed headshot

Re: Fallout 3
A bit random, but does anyone know who the actor is on the Fallout 3 adverts? Looks familiar but can't place him.
