Half life server setup

Today I managed to set up a server for half life and was surprised when I eventually saw someone had connected to it.

I cannot see the server name in the steam list of servers. So how do my friends find it. Do I give them a ip address or should it show up in the list of servers?
Regards

Re: Half life server setup

It will eventually show up in the list of the Master Servers so long as sv_lan is 1, I believe it is done on a first come first serve basis. When you say Half-Life, do you mean Half Life 1 Death match?

Yes this is possible, but no done yet, impressed that i eventually set it up did not mind someone else playing the map.
