Re: GTA: IV Released Tuesday 29th April 2008 [PS3 / Xbox 360]

Finished the story this morning and just completed all of the assassin missions. Still plenty to do: police jobs, Brucie's races, friend missions and jobs for LJ and Badman.

Mission are much more varied than that, Maybe you just havent got to any of the good ones yet like The Bank Job. Also if you fed-up driving take a taxi

If you'd have played the previous GTA games you'd surely have been aware that this is how they pan out, "drive somewhere kill a load of people then escape" its standard GTA fare. The difference being this is the first GTA on the next gen consoles, so all round better graphics, excellent story line and a more realistic driving experience have combined imo to be by far the best GTA experience to date.

Three Leaf Clover was awesome

[although also a bit frustrating lol]

---------

I've just done the last Ray mission (the hotel one), & seems I'll be doing jobs for another mobster called Phil next, plus "Bernie" is on my map now so he must be a mission-giver too.

Also done all the various McCreary missions, apart from the last few for Gerry (next Gerry one is 2nd part of the ransom one... gotta take a pic); and have also done all the ones for ULP, Playboy X, Dwayne, etc.

Side stuff:

Done - all the cars for Brucie, 4/10 drug drops for Jacob, a few random encounters. Maybe some other stuff.

Not done - the cars for Stevie, nor any races (other than "No.1"), pigeons, assassinations, most wanted, vigilante, etc...

Make sure you have body armour & full ammo & grenades.

Use loads of cover!

Don't rush it, but do keep any eye on when the brothers start moving on.

Grenading police cars helps, quicker than unloading your carbine into them.

How far have you got with it? Managed to get to the subway at least?

Aye have made it to the subway on my 2nd Attempt. Ran out of Armour though. Wish there was some way of getting more.

Yeah, but be careful when you're crouching in the alley. I blew myself up twice

The hardest part of that mission I feel is finding a decent 4 door car, and evading the police when you exit the subway.
If it's like previous GTAs, the pay n sprays don't do police vehicles, so I didn't try

Not sure if there's more armour knocking around, there is more health though in the subway, just past the turnstiles IIRC, and again near the end.

Just take your time, use lots of cover, & maybe throw some grenades too.

If you've got to the subway, you're nearly there.

Couple of guys down the first corridor, at the end on the right. Then you come down to near the turnstiles etc. Keep in cover, maybe chuck some grenades. Waste them with the carbine. More come up the stairs, waste them too. Watch out for people hiding behind pillars & turnstiles. Off down the stairs, to the platform.

Once you get down to the platform, take cover behind the pillars & shoot as many cops as you can, loads of them will pile down the stairs over the tracks on the opposite platform. Once the brothers start off down the track, run after them. They'll stop at one point to shoot back at the cops again, so join in with them, then head off again when they do. Stay in the middle of the tracks, & watch out for subway trains! (I got run over on one attempt). You'll soon get to a hatch, & some stairs leading up & out. IIRC, there's more health or something in a room near the bottom of the stairs. Once you've left, there's a handy SUV for you to jack, then you need to get the hell out of there & lose your 3 star wanted level (I kind of cheated by just phoning Kiki).

I killed Packie one time with a grenade

Each time I attempted it, there was always a four door SUV thing by the exit.

As for the wanted level at the end, I phoned Kiki, lol. Almost did it one time without phoning her, & just by driving & evading, but my car blew up.

Good advice there. I couldn't phone Kiki when I did the mission because whenever we go on a date, she turns me down. I don't know what she likes...

The SUV was locked for me, with a cop shooting at you via the drivers side door.

I only just got the email from kiki when I attempted the mission

I ended up jacking a cab (one of the slow minivan types, urghh), and driving to the pay n spray with black smoke pouring from it

Always go into a mission like this with full health and armour though.
It's only $300 if you get it from Little Jacob too

Re: GTA: IV Released Tuesday 29th April 2008 [PS3 / Xbox 360]

I took the SUV thats there when you leave the tunnels. Just take out the cops either side first if you can theres plenty of cover around. Then take the SUV. Does not matter if its locked let the animation continue and you will smash the window and get in. I didnt use KiKi I evaded them in the SUV

Very fun mission although after a couple try's can become annoying. Well worth it through for the reward
