Apparently its going to be available from market place fairly soon after the games release, I would have replied earlier but Iv been trolling the game sites trying to find the article. I'm almost 100% they said it would be free content, anxiously awaiting the release , or I'm going to have to eat humble pie

I'm sure there'd be some free DLC, but the actual 360 exclusive stuff?
Unlikely, IMO.
It's meant to be very big, & MS paid lots of money for it... Would Microsoft really give away such substantial DLC for free, especially as they paid R* loads to secure its exclusivity?

I admit it doesn't seem likely, but I'm going to take a punt on what I read, maybe it was just one of the islands you could d/l for free, I just wish I could find the site. Of course if I do Ill post a link, but at present I agree its not looking in my favour, ho-hum though at least we wont have to wait long to find out.

When Grand Theft Auto IV was announced for the Xbox 360 at E3 2006, gamers weren't too surprised. What was surprising, however, was the fact that the game was going to get some downloadable content for the game and that Sony's timed-exclusives on the game were history.
At Microsoft's X06 event currently taking place in Barcelona, Spain, Microsoft's corporate vice president of marketing Peter Moore gave gamers the latest on what's in store for the game on Xbox Live Marketplace. He announced that Rockstar Games is working on two downloadable packs for the game--to be made available within months of the game's release.
"We're not talking about an extra car or character here," Moore said when describing the "epic" episodic packs. He then joked about Rockstar keeping even him in the dark about the content packs, but emphasized that the packs would be lengthy.
A press release issued during the conference said only that the packs would add "hours of entirely new gameplay" to GTA4. No additional details on the downloadable packs were released, but industry sources have said they will be along the lines of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories in terms of length.
From the above story Matt I'm inclined to think your right, they are not going to just give this away out of the goodness of their hearts. Wheres that spoon!!

Re: GTA: IV Released Tuesday 29th April 2008 [PS3 / Xbox 360]
It's such a rip off this downloadable content stuff, if it's going to be coming out just after the game why don't they actually put it on the game from the start rather than make us pay even more money. Fair enough if it's a few months after release but a couple of weeks after release is a joke
(stupid question where m$ is concerned really lol)

You didn't and that's a fair point you made. However, I made my post on the basis that I thought your post was aimed at me.
Let's put it down to a slight mis-understanding shall we?
Friends?

I just wanted to make the point that almost every thread on here which has any sort of common theme between the 360 and PS3, degenerates into my an attempt to justify your console of choice. It gets pretty tedious and detracts from what should be an interesting and constructive discussion. I'm not aiming this at any one person, it's just my overall opinion, hence my second comment. Anyway, back on topic eh?

Only a month away now. I pre-ordered a Special Edition GTA IV from Game in July of last year (original release was due October last year). £69.99. If game is true to form, I may get it the day before release as I did with GT5.

GTA IV Xbox Live Offer at GAME.co.uk
Maybe it's online only as you get the code in the email? Or maybe the codes in the box or you get it when you pick the game up on release?
