First thing I did was go up the crane thats next to the ship and snipe out as many as you can. There will be some guys haging round the bottom after this just kill them with the assult rifle or mp5. Then once on the ship just move slowely and use the cover (I know I keep saying it but it really does help) Stick to behind the boxes. A couple grenades wont hurt either as you get toward the bridge of the ship as you can use them to clear rooms. When you get upto the cabins check the rooms because one has an armoured vest. (first one on left I think but not 100%) be carful when comming back down to because there will be guys wating for you. Again use cover lol. Once down below just take your time clearing the room till you get to Dmitri. Then hide behind a box and clear the guys to the left leaving Dmitri. Then if you've kept any grenades ( I surgest you do will make the final part easier here) then just throw it towards Dmitri. I got him first time. If you not getting him use the free aim and bounce it off the wall so it land behind the box hes using for cover.

Thats How I did that one Hope it made sense and helps you out a bit.

Spoiler:

The final mission was hard. It took me about 4-5 tried because I kept missing the jump. I would hit that little cone or can whatever it is just before the jump and fall off.

I surgest using the assult rifle as it seems to do most damage and have the longest rang. Very good gun. Use cover as much as possible. The first guys are easily delt with once you know were there placed (kill the guys on the roof first) and use the cover system. Same with the guys inside. Use the door frame as cover as you take them out. then mop up whats left. When on the roof chasing dont go over the tops as you get shot like crazy. Take the 2 guys out infront of you then take the ladder down and be ready to clear the guys on the ground as you get off. (theres a small part of the wall that sticks out you can hide behind if you have to) when you get to the bike part dont just speed along. You can take your time a little. Watch were your going and always remember theres a cone lying on the floor as you take the last turn b4 the jump. Once in the heli just keep shooting at the boat while moving side to side if you can to avoid the rockets. Then finally just chase down the boss (cant remember his name) and kill him. Again if you have the assult rifle its best or Ak if not as thats what the enemies drop I think.

Dont know if that will help m8 but thats how I did it

I think thats the games machine in the strip club m8. I ran past it a couple times in mission but never tried it out.
I's also in the pool club, I think it was in the bowling ally also. So there's a good few places with it, and yes, it is a games machine.

Cheers

1st:

Spoiler:
Yeah, I think my mistake with my final attempt at it (when I gave in & used the health cheat lol), was getting impatient. I took my time with the initial sniping, & clearing the boat, but then got a bit careless coming down from the bridge IIRC. Heh, & by the time I was in the open & heading for the cargo bay, it was too dark to bloody see anything.

If/when I re-do it, I think I'll also save it beforehand to advance time so I start it when it's lighter, like I did when I finally managed the 2nd mission.

2nd:

Spoiler:
Clearing the outside, plus the few inside, wasn't too bad. I'd learned from the one before, so took my time more. I used RPGs first on the ones outside, then sniped the rest. Mopped up the ones inside with the carbine & some grenades.

Messed up the bike chase though the first two times I got that far - missed the jump one time, & started too late & then briefly crashed the 2nd so he got away.

I really wish long missions had checkpoints...

I don't mean to take the mick, but if you did the other part then the mission gets check points because it's very long.

Re: GTA: IV Released Tuesday 29th April 2008 [PS3 / Xbox 360]

No, I mean actual checkpoints during missions, not an autosave at the end.

The final mission is split in two, whichever option you take, with the wedding in the middle. Autosave at the end of part 1, autosave after the wedding.

But if, say, you're doing part 2, get really near the end, & die, you have to either load the last save, or use a restart. Either way, you have to go through the whole of that particular mission part again from the start.

e.g.
Spoiler:
Miss the jump at the end of Revenge part 2, or mess up on Happiness Island... Restart or reload from right back at the beginning of Revenge part 2 when you have the initial car chase.
.

I'd much rather if PITA missions had checkpoints in them.

Spoiler:
On that final mission m8 there is one kind of checkpoint in it. If you die anytime after the car chase e.g. inside the building. When you get the txt message to try again if you click it then its loads back up were you just finished the car chase. So you dont have to redo the chase bit. But I think you still have same ammo and health so its probably not worth it

Ah, OK. Didn't realise that (apologies to Craig).

Not ideal though, if it's like a normal restart & you have the same health & ammo.

Re: GTA: IV Released Tuesday 29th April 2008 [PS3 / Xbox 360]

Finished it (again) last night, this time without using the health cheat on the 1st Revenge mission.

Just took my time, didn't rush, & made sure I used cover.

Yeah, much better

Really took my time with it, made sure I was extra careful, & always used cover wherever possible.

100%... that's gonna take some time!

Think I'll start with finishing Jacob's deliveries, then do the Assassin missions, then the vigilante & Most Wanted missions, & the car thefts... not looking forward to hunting the pigeons or doing the stunt jumps. Heh, not too sure about the streetraces either lol.

Re: GTA: IV Released Tuesday 29th April 2008 [PS3 / Xbox 360]

100% seems quite hard to get. I'm currently doing the vigilante missions and they're quite hard because of the timing. The pigeons and the stunt jumps seem like the hardest part to do. I'm hating the jumps because you need to perfect them each time.

Lol. I did the assassin missions, most wanted and jacobs deliveries. Done about half the race's (there not to bad once you get the hang of it, I take something big and just ram the other cars aside lol works a treat). Did brucies car thefts and I think I've done about half of stevies. I to am not looking forward to the pigion hunting or stunt jumps lol.

Still only on 73.25%.

Re: GTA: IV Released Tuesday 29th April 2008 [PS3 / Xbox 360]

Ive just finished the game for the first time also, I took revenge option, it took me eight attempts to get through it, phew!!... Just before the ramp for the jump there is an evil oil drum right in your path, this caught me out a couple of times as did controlling the chopper, trying to keep up, fire on the boat and evade rockets. Ive now completed 79.12% and have been playing 58 hours...slowly getting there.
