a decent router plz!
somebody tell me a decent router to get?
with a ntl/vm 1mb boardband and wanting to use the 360 online,i got a netgear rp614v4 which decides when it wants to work,i have managed to get it working 5 different ways and having reformatting my pc,i really just want a router to start straight away and not spend half a day guessing what to do but saying that when it does work it does work ok.
i would prefer a wired router so thx!
what would be a good xbox live online setup?
i know i have only a 1mb,but i do get some lag at times(but this is more to do with connecting to the game itself?)but when the router will only let u connect at a certain speed is there any point in getting a faster boardband?
maybe someone can tell me a good setup with ntl/vm to use the xbox live?
many thx!

Re: a decent router plz!
 1st of all.
problem that is at the moment is that wireless routers are becoming cheaper then their old wired partners.
I would still just get a linksys, belkin, draytech or buffalo router wireless and this should work properly.
there are loads of routers to pick from. it just depands on how much you are willing to spend

DLink DGL4300 if you can get hold of one.

Just switch the wireless radio off if you don't need it.

Re: a decent router plz!
Or get the DGL4100 if you want to avoid wireless entirely (since you said you'd prefer a wired router).
It's practically the same router, only with just ethernet ports.
I got mine off ebay from a German shop, was the only way I could get ahold of one in this country at the time, not sure if that's changed at all. Had to get an adapter for the plug and everything :P
Works great though, best router I've ever owned.

Re: a decent router plz!
Just remembered that I had this handy little review article in my favourites:
http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/content/view/25840/55/
The tests are conducted with a slant on p2p but should be just as relevant to gamers as this is the path which many games are now taking for online play.
