Half Life 2: Episode 2 Crash

There is a specific part in the game where just after being chased by a large antlion (those of you who play will know what that is) where the game will simply close down. This happens every time I hit that EXACT point. If I look to one side it generally helps but the game will still close down.

Anyone else get this, or know how to fix it?

I'm using XP x64.

it's a common problem

lots of stuff out there on the web about it - some people are able to get past it by shooting the web first and then running backwards, some by looking at opposite wall and walking.
It seems to be hit and miss really - I'm stuck there at the moment with the crash - someone I know has downloaded a saved game from someone else to get them just past it

Though apparently steam have released a fix for it
