Re: Crysis - the reviews are in
shall have a read when I am home - for some reason, work don't like me accessing Games related sites! pfft!
Played the demo and thought it was rather good except didn't really introduce any new wonderful things that would make it really stand out.

Re: Crysis - the reviews are in
I didn't like it much at all, farcry was better for me, as is COD4 (I know it's a different type of game an all that). A bit of a let down compared to all the hype it's generated.
Maybe its miles better on a monster machine running dx10. (And there's no way I'd pay that kind price for the sake of a game or two).
I would agree with the reviews so far, hanging around the 90% mark and not gone stupid like Bioshock.

Yes those gun toting trees are a real menace to a punter just taking a gentle stroll...
sorry I couldn't resist.

Re: Crysis - the reviews are in
Played the demo to death, will probably get the full game but when the price drops.
My PC (AMD64 4800x2, 2gig gskill, 7950gt2 with 1g GDDR3) played the demo at 1280x1024 on medium settings, so I dont see why I should pay 'full price' if I'm only gonna see 'medium' gameplay.
I like games, but I'm in no rush to upgrade my existing kit just to be able to play the newest, most expensive games.

Re: Crysis - the reviews are in
Most expensive? You can get it for £26.99 and Free Delivery here: http://www.play.com/Games/PC/4-/1015...s/Product.html Unfortunately, upgrading your PC to keep up with time is just part and pass with owning one, although yours seems to be pretty much top notch anyway. My spec is an AMD Athlon 64 3700+ (Single Core), 3GB Single Channel DDR1, XFX GeForce 8600GT and it runs great at "Medium" at 1440x900 haven't tried it any higher yet.

Re: Crysis - the reviews are in
Funny enough, I put my friends CRT on it and it played fine at 1600x1200 at medium.... the 7950 seems to excel at higher resolutions.
Trouble is, I run 2 19" flat screens that max out at 1280x1024!!

Re: Crysis - the reviews are in
I think the game is good so far, but it's not amazing. Until my 8800GT comes, I can only play everything in medium settings, which good as they look, just don't seem as impressive as I was expecting. Gameplay is ok but it doesn't really bring anything impressive with it.

Read somewhere that there's a bug with Nvidia cards where it slows down unless you restart the game. Nvidia are supposed to be fixing it in next lot of drivers.
Can try to find the link again if you like.

Yeah, doesn't seem to affect everyone from what I remember.
You gonna get a GT, Zing?
