Colin McRae: DiRT

Demo launched today. Game plays really well. Can get the 360 download on the marketplace, PC demo at the usual places. In case any of you are interested our site is running some Time Trials for the game - makes SP a bit more fun.

Tried the 360 demo. So far its ace. Car Handling is brill and the graphics are stunning in HD. Will be getting this when released.

Re: Coln McRae DiRT [360, PS3, PC]

I've tried the PC version and I didn't like it much, so will try out the 360 version as see. PC can't do racers anyway.

Re: Coln McRae DiRT [360, PS3, PC]

The 360 demo looks really good. Probably the best 'racer' graphics I've seen on the Xbox. Blows Forza 2 away in that respect. The cars handle pretty well too, but not sure it has the depth that Forza 2 has.

Definitely great fun playing the demo though.

Re: Coln McRae DiRT [360, PS3, PC]

I think I'll just get the 360 version and not bother with the PC version (even with an e6700, etc etc it still didn't play to well), even though I know it's only a demo and not representative of the actual gameplay yada yada yada.

Consoles are just better alround these days (esp for racers).

Re: Coln McRae DiRT [360, PS3, PC]

Brilliant demo on the 360, puts Forza 2 to shame in terms of style, looks and gameplay - which to be honest, really dosnt surprise me.

As said before, for those lucky enough to have the 360 and a pc, dont bother with the pc version. Driving games and PC just do not go hand in hand.

Re: Coln McRae DiRT [360, PS3, PC]

Brilliant demo on the PC as well, although the handling of the cars is crap via 3 buttons Would be much better on 360 i should imagine.

Note to everyone else: If you have Dual-SLI 8800's, then and only then, should you try 1280x1024 @ Ultra settings... I'm not kidding i get sub-1fps on the core2 @ 2.1Ghz, 3Gb CAS3 DDR2 RAM, and an X1600XT Gfx card.

It doesn't put FM2 to shame in terms of gameplay in my opinion. I agree that it's visually more impressive though.
