Japanese Sales Figures

Saw this over at DC-Emu. It covers the period 29th January - 4th February.

Quote:
Japan Hardware sales for the week above

- DS Lite: 146,073
- Wii: 65,740
- PSP: 31,216
- PS2: 18,727
- PS3: 17,540
- Xbox 360: 6,130
- Game Boy Micro: 1,050
- GBA SP: 724
- Gamecube: 306
- DS Phat: 119
- GBA: 28
I was surprised by 2 things... firstly the PS3 figure and secondly the DS Lite figure

Re: Japanese Sales Figures

The DS Lite sales don't surprise me. It's a really unique console just suited for Japan, just like the Wii. A Final Fantasy 3 remake was just released for it, so that probably had some say in those figures.

Re: Japanese Sales Figures

Just goes to show how yet again Nintendo are Owning the games market at the moment. Everything they do seems to be a step in the right direction.
The amount of Wii's and DS Lites have been flying off the shelves.

Re: Japanese Sales Figures

I'm suprised about the DS lite figure....

But PS3 being half of PSP? Crazy.

Re: Japanese Sales Figures

I have a feeling that the Playstation is going to struggle this year.

Re: Japanese Sales Figures

Yep PS3 is surely going to struggle until there's a more diverse range of signature titles. Nothing gobsmacking at the moment to justify the outlay.
