Software wanted
I'm looking for two bits of software (Ideally free)
1. I want some software that can do 3D animation (with reflections etc)
2. I also want some software that I can put text on the screen white text on a black background, and it looks like a light is moving across the back of the text (like when the chapters are loadig in the PC game Area 51) and I can the import it into a format that be displayed on a web site

Re: Software wanted
1) Blender is free of charge - www.blender.org or read the Wikipedia page here.
2) dunno... have a look for Flash stuff at sourceforge.net

...otherwise, for 2) you could try Anim-FX - although it's not free of charge it is reasonably cheap. Have a look at www.anim-fx.com or check out the samples here.

Wikipedia is dangerous, I just lost 25 minutes of my life flicking through the articles. Never post a link to that again! :p
