M$ Flight Simulator 2004
...a century of flight they call it...yeah whatever, I call it the most boring game ever made!
The graphics are ok in places but I don't think they should not have set the default timescale as real time - I started off flying from Heathrow to San Francisco and gave up after an hour of flying over water.
There were some funny bits though, like when I set off from Cardiff to Heathrow and ended up crash landing in bloody Dublin of all places.
Quite how I managed a complete u-turn I'll never know.

Re: M$ Flight Simulator 2004
It's THE best and most widely selling Flight Simulator (the hint is in the title there in case you missed it "S I M U L A T O R" available for any home user) it has a massive on and offline community with millions of free and commercial add-on's but what it doesn't do however, is cater to people with a short attention span (and those that don't read the manual and realise that you can just set the autopilot and speed up time up to 16x) it also requires a modicum of imagination, perhaps you're better off sticking with Medal of Honor

IMHO X-Plane is the best.

Good flight model, crap graphics and no decent scenery addons.

Re: M$ Flight Simulator 2004
its a superb simulator, if thats what you require. I got bored sitting on a plane flying form Heathrow to San Fransisco. Why on earth anyone would want to go through that without the benefit of actually going to SF i have no idea!

Re: M$ Flight Simulator 2004
ROFL I use fs2004 alot online and have done the long flights, I normally go shop and pub and by time I got back we are close to it
If not then ahem I am swimming with the fishes and crashed
Nice game perhaps I would like a scaled down version which can run on lesser systems as with me going laptop with onboard S3 visuals I doubt I can run the flight simulators 2000,2002, and 2004 COF.
Any ideas I have fs98 which I think may run. Wonder if it supports online gaming, I know Combat Flight Simultor 2 does.
Anyways got sp2 installing thanks to Windows Update so expecting to have to reboot soon, not my laptop I am using need money to buy a nice new one for myself.

Re: M$ Flight Simulator 2004
Flight Sim 98 was awful graphically.
I got the 2004 one the other day and it is a big improovement but the long flights can be annoying.

Re: M$ Flight Simulator 2004
I agree with fs98 but with me only having a laptop right now with s3 graphics its about best I can use.
I love fs2004 and as for longer flights, just use the speed increaser or put it on autopilot and go get a beer

Re: M$ Flight Simulator 2004
Ordered FS2004 last night, should hopefully be getting it tomorow. Used to always do long flights on Flight Unlimited 2 and FS98, but looking at the cool planes on FS2004 I just had to get it
Was only £25 aswell with Royal Mail first class delivery
EDIT: Typo fixed

£25 in PC World atm too. And um .. if anyone who's got it can tell me how to use the autopilot alongside ILS in English .. I'd be eternally greatful, it's supposed to follow the glidepath after you've tuned into the ILS nav, a few hundred feet from the runway you disengage the AP and you can land manually ... doesn't work however and GPS nav. with the AP is a bit unrealistic.

Do you need a joystick to play this game?
